There is in-game help, this is the first of several screens

The player's ship is in the drop ship at the start of the first level

The ship has landed safely. The astronaut on the far right is in the process of beaming aboard. This happens automatically

On the ascent the ship's gun is active

When a ship hits something or lands too hard there's a shower of debris

When all astronauts are rescued the player gets a 10,000 point bonus and then has to do it all over again but with more rocks in the way
