If you like a game that keeps stats and features realistic basketball play, then NCAA Championship Basketball should be on your computer. Overall, a very well done game that should keep sports fans happy for quite some time.
Overall, I think I could grow to like this game a lot; it's definitely a high-skill game you won't easily grow out of. It does have a few downfalls that can't be fixed by a large screen -- occasional lack of player responsiveness, rotating field of view -- but if you've got the right equipment and don't take drugs, you probably won't be bothered by the game's worst features. If you're a patient coach, you have good speakers, a 21" monitor, and lots of practice time, you'll rock.

If you're looking for an NCAA basketball game for the PC, NCAA Championship Basketball is your best choice. Although Bethesda Softworks' Road to the Final Four 2 is more customizable, it moves faster than the human eye on today's Pentiums.

NCAA Championship is by no means a slam-dunk success, but it is a unique and well-implemented sim. Tough gameplay and modern-to-modern capability make it a very promising freshman.

Give NCAA a few extra points for including a good manual – increasingly rare these days. Keep the manual handy, too, since the game's nonintuitive interface can be difficult to navigate. Overall, though, NCAA is a well-conceived effort, blending the best elements of arcade and coaching action into an enjoyable simulation. In some ways, the differences between NCAA and its NBA gaming competition reflects the difference between the college and pro games themselves. Both are fun and exciting, but the NBA products come at you with a whole lot more multimedia hoopla. Nonetheless, if you love college ball, NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP BASEBALL is a solid pick.
