Back of Box - Game Boy (US):

    Twisting pix with clever tricks.

    That's the challenge of Qix!

QIX. It's sneaky, it's snakey, it's an unpredictable energy field. It rotates, stretches, shortens and changes directions in a flash. QIX tries to catch your diamond cursor before you complete a box. Once the box is complete you've taken over that part of the screen. But watch the moving sparks. If they catch you, it'll be over in an instant. When you claim 75% or more of the screen, you win the round. Each level is more difficult, with more sparks to dodge and two QIX's to challenge you.

QIX is for kids... and adults, too!

With the Video Link™ cable, two players can play simultaneously for an even greater challenge.

Twisting pix with clever tricks – that's the challenge of Qix.

Your objective is to claim as much of the screen as possible. However, Qix will try to disrupt you at every turn by rotating, stretching, shortening and changing directions. It's sneaky, it's snaky, it's an unpredictable energy field.

Qix will try to catch your diamond cursor before you can complete a box. Once the box is complete, you've taken over that part of the screen. But watch out for the moving Sparx and the Fuse. If they catch you, the game will be over in an instant.

To complete a level, claim 75 percent or more of the screen. With more enemies to dodge, each level will be more difficult than the last.

This game is only playable in 2D.

Your mind is your only weapon(tm)...

What is Qix? (Pronounced Kicks.) Where did it come from? Where does it go when you turn off your computer? Can you capture QIX before it destroys you?

Qix is unlike any other game you've ever seen or played. It simulates a fictitious computer virus with a whirling multi-color helix that lives inside the darkness of your computer -- never resting.

The object of the game is to neutralize QIX by building a vaccine that contains the virus. You must trap the QIX within this carefully constructed space.

But think and act fast, because the QIX and its mutant offspring are trying to destroy you.
