Space Dude is a hilarious attempt at entertainment for your PC, and it's a success! At first, I had low expectations from this game, because honestly, it's not the most well-marketed title out there, and at first glance it looks like a cheap shareware game (from the screen shots). Wow, was I wrong. Space Dude is a fun game which doesn't take tons of strategy or skill. I would seriously recommend this game for kids because the gameplay is so simplistic. Just don't be mad if your kids never let you use your PC again. ;)
Space Dude is another one of those games which I felt was very good but just didn't score that highly. I suggest you give it a try, it'll definitely be a boon for younger gamers as it will keep them entertained for a long time. Older gamers shouldn't shun Space Dude either though, while it's not as complex as other Action games, it still keeps you motivated.
With that in mind, I still found the game interesting. It takes a while to get used the controls and figure out what's required in each scenario, especially since the manual isn't too helpful. Once you get the hang of it though, it is a lot of fun to play. Would I recommend Space Dude to anyone? For kids, definitely, absotively, posilutely, yes! They should have a blast once they figure out what to do. For others, however, I think you could better spend your money elsewhere.
In total, Space Dude is a game that just does not work. The concept is pedestrian, and the audiovisual presentation is awful. Avoid this game.
Power Play (Jul, 1996)
