Interesting. My box of Spellcasting 301 had actually a BLACK Disk 1 (version 1.0)
What release is this then and how many releases were there with 3.5 disks?

It's the same release; the color of the disk is not relevant in this case, the label is. Still, there is nothing to prevent an 'alternate color disk' scan, just for fun. :-)
The HD print means it's a 1.44MB (High Density) floppy.
Sometimes in old releases, in order to save money, one disk in a set might be a DD (Double Density) 720kB disk, if the data does not require the then more expensive HD.
(This is also indicated by the extra hole in the plastic, without the read/write lock, which is missing on DD disks.)
