DOS screenshots
This is the first screen that a player sees. Most, if not all, of Tommy's shareware games start like this
before the game begins the player is prompted for the colours the game will use. Note: The following screen shots will show how disastrous these choices can be
The start of a game. The colours were selected by the player and seemed like a good choice at the time
The game can optionally number each square.
A game in progress. Here a pawn has made it to D8 and is about to be promoted
Always read the manual. A white pawn made it to D8 and was promoted to a black queen! When the game prompted 'Promote to?' the player answered 'Q' and not '-Q' to denote rank and colour
The game detects when a game is over automatically.
There is a save / load feature. Here the save game feature is being used, the dialogue is in the upper left corner
The first screen of the game's extensive help file. It's large and it's easier to view it as a text file outside the game
The game can be played using a monochrome display option.
The game's exit screen
