ACE (Advanced Computer Entertainment) (Nov, 1990)
Reviewed in the September issue on the Amiga, this "follow up" to the classic Tetris has made it across to the PC in all its glory. Gameplay is identical and all the usual PC options (CGA/EGA and additional soundboards) are catered for. As with the Amiga version, Welltris does not exactly stretch the machine to its limits, but similarly to Tetris, its addictivity relies on its simplicity. An essential puzzler for PC owners.

Festplatte gut aufgehoben. Allerdings verhindert die Sicherheitsabfrage (Namen und Daten aus der - viersprachigen! - Anleitung) das ganz schnelle Bürospiel zwischendurch. Wer aber ein wenig Zeit und Geduld mitbringt, wird mit exklusivem Knobelspaß belohnt.

So is Welltris going to take the world by storm in the same way its predecessor did? I think not. While it's simple enough to get the hang of, Welltris just doesn't grab you, perhaps because it requires a little too much thought to play at speed. Whatever the reason, Welltris simply fails to follow in the footsteps of its illustrious predecessor - perhaps Tetris is too hard an act to follow after all.

Jag har inte provat Welltris länge och jag tror faktiskt att jag inte kommer att spela det lika mycket som jag en gång spelade Tetris. Hur som helst lyckades jag få ihop ett par rader. Programmet lämpar sig bara för sanna Tetris-entusiaster.
