FV2 moves fast and looks great. The animation and graphic style are intriguing. You get at least four new characters (Emi and Charlie immediately; Kuhn and Delsol later) to choose from. Game modes include Arcade, Versus, Random, Survival, and Training. You know it... play this game with a friend for maximum enjoyment.

Fighting Vipers 2 follows the tried-and-true formula of the original and the results are every bit as good.

Leider viel Sega in puncto Ausstattung wieder in düstere Virtua Fighter 3-Zeiten zurück.

It's with great pleasure that I recommend Fighting Vipers 2 as a sweet and shiny distraction to both Soul Calibur and DOA 2. By no means is FV2 a substitute for either of these fighters. This one is pure mind-numbing entertainment--the equivalent of watching a Dudley Do-Right cartoon after taking a physics class.
Planet Dreamcast (Mar 23, 2001)
While Fighting Vipers 2's visuals and extra features impress, there are a number of annoying things that could have been fixed oh-so-easily but haven't. Overall, FV2 is a visually impressive and fun to play flawed game, but better than Soul Calibur? Don't be silly.
IGN (Jan 22, 2001)
In the end, Fighting Vipers 2 attempts to get by on the strength of its fighting engine alone. This is a straight arcade port with no frills ¿ and considering how dated the game looks and plays, there should have been a lot more effort put into the conversion. If you must have a sub-par copy of the arcade game running in your home, then go ahead and import ¿ but don't forget that there are plenty of other superior titles out there that are more deserving of your hard-earned cash.

Gamestyle (Sep 20, 2008)
Perhaps AM2 had little development time between Shenmue 2 and Virtua Fighter 4 but they could have done a better job. Gamestyle cannot help but think that the Fighting Vipers 2 should have been included in one of the proposed Sega Arcade multi-packs as its value and appeal is quite limited. Not bad, but little effort on the conversion by AM2.

As we hinted in our preview (which was based on an imported copy), it's not enough that Fighting Vipers 2 be translated, it needs to be spruced up as well, and this just hasn't happened. As it is, at least the Japanese version's incomprehensible gibberish gives it some character. Fighting Vipers 2 for the West is a dismal swansong for AM2 and their Dreamcast contributions. Lets hope they pull something amazing out of the bag in the next few months to make up for this. Needless to say, don't waste your money on FV2.
Defunct Games (May 02, 2004)
Oh sure, the Fighting Vipers series lets you punch people really hard ... but Virtua Fighter 2 had a drunken fighter! Anyway, let me just say in closing, there is no reason you should import Fighting Vipers 2 ... well, unless you are still waiting to get your hands on Mortal Kombat Gold.
