For all of you out there who have been searching for that ultimate party game on the Dreamcast, your ship has come in. My first game of choice used to be Puyo Puyo 4 for 4-player action, but thanks to Capcom, everyone will have a new obsession. If there are any hardcore import gamers out there who still don't own Power Stone 2, my only question is "WHY!?"

There are very few games I go back to after I've played through them once or twice. PS2 is the exception. For such a seemingly simple game there are limitless ways to entertain yourself. As a reviewer I need to maintain some distance, some objectivity with any game I play. I do not write catchy slogans for a fee--I am not a quote whore. It is not my job to sell product. Taking all of that into consideration, I can say without reservation that you must buy this game! I repeat, buy this game! Pawn family heirlooms, sell blood, get back your deposit for your PlayStation 2, do whatever you can to get this game in your library. You won't be disappointed.

No matter if you're gunning it solo or you have a party going on, Power Stone 2 is just about the perfect 3D fighting game. If anything it's the best of it's kind, and will be nearly impossible to top. Though ... with internet access.

Once more into the breech dear friends, paying $50 for a game is an ugly thing. If you own a Dreamcast and don't own this title, you owe it to yourself to own a piece of history. You can easily snag this for under ten bucks around the way. For those considering in purchasing a DC, let this be a sign that good games don't have to cost $50. There are scores of great games still available for the system, and would totally recommend picking up a Dreamcast along with a few games for well under a hundred clams.

The Dreamcast is slowly emerging as the machine to have if you like 'party' games. With games like Chu-Chu Rocket and Marvel vs Capcom, Sega's dream machine looks to take away the title of best multiplayer system away from Nintendo's N64. Powerstone 2 is just another step towards this realization. With it's great graphics and undeniably fun gameplay, Capcom continues their streak of innovative and extremely fun titles that only proves that the company is still at the top of their game.

Power Stone 2 performs better its predeccessor in that you can see more of what is on screen, making its four-player matches much easier to play in the long run. So, even if you have powered your way through the original, Capcom connects the dots of yet for yet another sucessful fighting franchise worth your interest.

The original Power Stone that accompanied the launch of the Dreamcast was the first true 3-D fighter available to the home console market. Capcom has taken that first effort and made it even better. With superb graphics, stellar sound, huge levels, simple but addicting gameplay and the addition of four-player multiplayer you cannot go wrong purchasing this title. This game will cause many nights to waste away and it definitely belongs in every Dreamcast owner's library. Power Stone 2 earns a well-deserved joystick up from this reviewer.

Power Stone 2: Let's face it. At least 90 percent of all fighters come down to who can mash the buttons faster. Power Stone 2 is the anit-button masher. There are five buttons you'll need to use, not counting the analog stick. The most you'll need to mash the buttons is a three hit combo. The game comes down to pure strategy and luck, no button mashing skills required. Did I forget to mention the 120 plus weapon selection?

Power Stone 2 is everything you've hoped for since the original, with madcap action and four-player mayhem, but a little more depth and less confusion would have rounded this title out nicely. As it is, PS2 is a great multiplayer title that should bring smiles to the faces of Power Stone junkies across the country.

As I sit here with my pristine copy of Power Stone 2 just a few feet away from me, in awe at its addictive platform madness rolled into a fighting game shell, I can't help but feel apologetic. Sorry that I never spent the time with the original game that it so richly deserved. Sorry that it took an entire year for me to finally realize what a revolutionary achievement that is was. And sorry that I'm not playing it or it's sequel with my friends at this very moment. Hooked on Capcom's latest franchise, I'd recommend Power Stone 2 to any one of you on any day of the week. Go out and get it right now!

Superb, anarchic fun from Capcom. Puts some of their earlier offerings to shame. (Don't buy Marvel vs. Capcom 2!) If you've been looking for the perfect multiplayer game on the Dreamcast, or just a beat-'em-up with a hint of originality, you must get this. Be warned: I'm told it takes a certain kind of person to enjoy it. But the reaction I've seen from almost everyone who plays it basically says: if you like fun games, you'll love Power Stone 2.

Para finalizar me gustaría expresar mi opinión personal sobre este juego. Power Stone 2, al igual que Power Stone, es una compra obligada. Mucha gente opina que es un juego demasiado "loco", confuso con todas esas cosas moviéndose al mismo tiempo en pantalla, más ahora que hay el doble de luchadores contemporáneos; en mi opinión, no es más que una falta de enfoque, basta con centrarse en lo que quieres hacer con tu personaje, y todo viene rodado: lanzarás las cajas como el mejor, cogeras las mejores armas, robaras la piedras del poder a tus contrincantes, y vencerás en cualquier pelea, pero no sin esfuerzo. Power Stone 2 ofrece jugabilidad en estado puro, horas y horas de diversión y risas, solo o en compañía, durante semanas o meses, con vistosidad en todos sus aspectos. Puede no gustarte este tipo de juegos, pero buscarle defectos a este sería cuando menos una injusticia, una vez más, una compra recomendada.

Power Stone 2 builds upon a great arena fighter adding more characters, unique items, bosses, and layered gameplay with the levels. Capcom did a terrific job sending this series out on the right note. I thoroughly enjoyed my Power Stone 2 review.
While the modes don't offer a lot of variation, there is lots to do and collect, and if you like fighting games, the mayhem and action that Power Stone 2 delivers will certainly entertain.

The two-player matches are hectic enough, so as you can imagine, the four-player mode is lively but VERY confusing. I prefer the excellent one-player Adventure mode that lets you collect items in a series of branching battles. Dreamcast collectors will want Power Stone 2 in their collection, but it's not an easy game to track down. It's definitely one of a kind, but I prefer the simpler brand of melee of its predecessor.

Powerstone is a fast-paced fighting game that's sure to entertain almost every gamer. With plenty of weapons, well-designed arenas, and the excellent implementation of the Powerstone during the battles, this is a refreshing new game from Capcom. Though more advanced gamers might wish that there were some more complicated moves, the ease of Powerstone makes it great for multi-player. This is a strong title and a great addition to the launch of the Sega Dreamcast.

All things considered, Power Stone 2 is a decent game. I enjoyed it enough to buy it and it does so many things right that I just can't help pointing out the minor flaws that keep it from being great. Like many Capcom games, it comes so close to being one of the greatest games in its genre that I just wish they had pushed a little harder when making the game. Oh well, it's still a step above the rest.
The levels are amazing, the weapons never fail to surprise and the game spews out ocean-sized chunks of fun. Sadly, like in the first one, the long-term thrills aren't there and Capcom has slightly marred a fantastic update by not bothering to address this flaw.

Insgesamt gesehen konnte mich Power Stone 2 mehr überzeugen als sein Vorgänger, was hauptsächlich daran liegt, dass man hier alleine etwas mehr geboten bekommt und mit Mitspielern mehr Spaß hat, zumal die Kämpfe durch den gesteigerten Waffenanteil nicht mehr so unfair wirken, wie es in Teil 1 manchmal der Fall war. Andererseits wirkt die Fortsetzung auch etwas liebloser entwickelt, was deutlich an der nicht stark veränderten Grafik und auch an der Menüstruktur zu sehen ist. Man hätte z.B. im Adventure Modus nicht das Gleiche spielen müssen wie im 1-on-1-Modus. So wird selbst das Erschaffen neuer Items irgendwann langweilig. Einen großen Teil trägt dazu aber sicherlich auch die geringe Anzahl an Kampfstages bei. Die 5 Arenen, so ausgefallen sie auch sind, reichen einfach nicht aus. Die 4 Extra-Stages sind dabei eigentlich kein richtiger Ersatz. Hätte man sich darüber vielleicht ein bisschen mehr Gedanken gemacht, wäre das Ergebnis sicherlich noch zufriedenstellender ausgefallen.
Had the designers persisted with the same gameplay offered in the original game, the Power Stone series would have surely disappeared in the deluge of "me too" fighting games that flood the market. What they've done, however, is crafted a multiplayer experience the likes of which is bested only by Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. games. In this case, more is most definitely better, and surely a third title would not be much too much to ask for?

Seemingly rare dreamcast game ran toward the multi player focus of gaming, need more games out there like this, bundles of fun for parties and for when you have company, but limited to the game play when in single player mode, tons of new weapons to buy from to keep the replay value up.

Power Stone 2 adds longevity to an already solid formula by bringing the concepts of four-player mayhem to an already crazy fighting engine. The result is a game you will either love, because of its sheer gameplay insanity, or hate, because you won't be able to locate your character in the middle of all the action.

Tja, gibt’s denn das? Unser Sequel-Spezialist Capcom, für den oft ein neuer Charakter schon ausreicht, um eine Fortsetzung zu veröffentlichen, schafft mit Power Stone 2 doch tatsächlich einen Nachfolger, der sich gewaschen hat. Oder steh' ich mit meiner Meinung etwas alleine da?`Aber auch wenn andere das nicht so sehen, für mich setzt dieses Game dem neu gegründeten Unter-Genre die Krone auf. Ist mangels Konkurrenz nicht sonderlich schwer? Stimmt, aber die unendlichen Features, freispielbaren Extra-Optionen und der geniale Vierspieler-Modus setzen die Messlatte extrem hoch. Lediglich mehr Charaktere hätten es gerne sein dürfen. Zwölf Protagonisten (acht bekannte plus vier neue) sind mit persönlich ein bisschen zu wenig.

Gleich vornweg: Wer den ersten Teil dieses Beat ‘em Ups nicht mochte, wird sich bestimmt auch nicht mit diesem Teil anfreunden können. Allen anderen sei auf dem Weg zum nächsten Laden mitgegeben: Obwohl das Spiel nur fünf Levels bis zum Endgegner bietet, merkt euch diesen Titel vor, zockt mal rein und überzeugt euch selbst. Denn hat man sich erst einmal an das ungewohnte Spielgefühl gewöhnt, dann rockt das Game ohne Ende. Leider ist das Beat‘emUp-Feeling des ersten Teiles aufgrund der hohen Unübersichtlichkeit und durch zu viele Distanzwaffen etwas verloren gegangen. Eine uneingeschränkte Kaufempfehlung bekommt dieser Titel aus diesem Grund nicht, weil man dieses Spiel entweder liebt oder hasst und es daher nicht generell als Kauftipp anpreisen sollte.

Power Stone 2 boils down to just being more Power Stone, which is never a bad thing. It doesn't completely live up to its predecessor in all areas (ease of play, final boss), but in others (arena design, Adventure Mode) it's actually better. However, rather than call this Power Stone 2, I almost wish Capcom had taken up its Street Fighter hobby and called this Power Stone Alpha -- then I might have been more impressed. Those points aside, Power Stone 2 is yet another solid entry in the Dreamcast's fighting library.

Tja, und mit was für einer Note sollen wir Power Stone 2 nun heim schicken? Für den Solospieler wird einfach zu wenig geboten, um langfristig zu motivieren - da macht Power Stone 1 trotz weniger Charaktere, weniger Items und kleinerer Stages mehr Spaß. Für ein zünftiges Party-Duell ist dieses Sequel dagegen fast eine Offenbarung und ein Garant für unterhaltsame Stunden, wenn da nicht die Zooms wären, die manchmal soweit hinaus führen, dass die Figuren nur noch winzigst auf dem Screen erscheinen und Chaos (“Wo bin ich bloß?“) und Verwirrung stiften. Also: Mehr als eine “70“ gibt‘s nicht, Multiplayer können noch zehn Punkte dazu addieren.
