Valdis is dead. Slain by your own group of adventurers in Dungeon Siege II. The Second Age of Man has begin after the clash between Valdis' Sword of Zaramoth and the Shield of Azunai, provoking yet another cataclysm bringing destruction across the land.
Yet, you find yourself only a pawn to a darker and powerful evil: The Overmage, who has been waiting for that day for a thousand years to bring his race of Familiars back, whom were banished from the Land of Aranna, one thousand years ago. It now has been a year now as you have been searching for clues to the whereabouts of the Overmage. Your leads now bring you again to the remains of a Dryad colony. Another adventure begins...
Dungeon Siege II: Broken World introduces new additional features of the original game and access to two new character classes: the Blood Assassin and the Fist of Stone.
The Blood Assassin class combines ranged and combat magic, focusing on blood sacrifices and offensive traps, while the Fist of Stone class combines melee and nature magic, focusing on defensive strategies and earthquake based attacks.
A new playable race is now available: The Dwarf, in addition to two new pets. Another new feature is the recipe feature, where you can now create unique or special items based on recipes. Besides the new monsters and items, there are also minor changes and improvements in gameplay as well as in graphics.
To play the add-on, you need a character which has already finished the main game or you may choose one of the pre-generated characters provided.
Not quite sure if they included this little information in the package, but you cannot play Dungeon Siege II: Broken World until you complete the campaign in its predecessor Dungeon Siege II. Well, the game does upgrade Dungeon Siege II to patch version 2.3 with additional spells, characters, etc. but if you haven't completed the previous game yet, you probably wouldn't want to pay money just for a patch...
