Evasive Space is a 3D action game where the female character Konki's ship needs to be guided through cramped, maze-like environments to fulfil objectives. She is a Stellar Guardian and must regain the Constellation Stones from Dr. Dark Matter and his band of space thieves. Shown using a side view, the game uses an unusual control mechanic: a single button is used to fire the thrusters, while the Wii Remote infrared pointer steers the ship by moving a cursor across the screen. That way the controls are not very precise and a quick succession of thrust and moving the cursor is needed to avoid obstacles. Risks are also encourages as the farther the cursor is removed from the ship, the faster it will travel. The speed of control is also encouraged through the time limit imposed in most missions.

When the ship hits an obstacle or a wall it is stunned briefly and some energy is removed. The ship needs to collect energy cells to restore power and this can be used to charge a system of up three panels of power. Picking up chronosphere items briefly rewinds time to win a few seconds. There are also diodes that can be collected fill and upgrade meter and unlock six different ship upgrades, including an energy shield that protects against damage. Obstacles include crystalline shards, enemy missiles, turrets, black holes and more. There are twenty missions set across four worlds.

Offline multiplayer is supported for up to four people through six game modes. Through the WiFi connection players can compete for the fastest times on the online leaderboards.
