Trivia

1001 Video Games

F-Zero GX appears in the book 1001 Video Games You Must Play Before You Die by General Editor Tony Mott.

Arcade version

There is an Arcade twin of this game called F-Zero AX. It was developed for the TriForce arcade system, developed by Nintendo, SEGA and Namco (and named after the all powerful religious artifacts from Nintendo's Legend of Zelda series series). The in-game differences between F-Zero AX and GX lie in particular to their number of vehicles and tracks. Both games have their own exclusive tracks, vehicles and vehicle parts. However, everything in the Triforce version can be unlocked in the GameCube version.

Controversy

In March 2002, the announcement that the next F-Zero would be developed by the Amusement Vision studio from the former arch-rival SEGA outraged a lot of Nintendo fans.
