Description
Like the previously re-released
Final Fantasy, this remake of the original
Final Fantasy II is built upon the
Game Boy Advance version of the game - which, in its turn, is based on the earlier
WonderSwan Color remake. It has all bonuses from the Game Boy version including Soul of Rebirth, but also features new improved graphics, 16:9 screen format with easy-to-read texts and better quality of music and sound. The CG intro from the
PlayStation version. has also been redone in 16:9. It also includes art galleries of Yoshitaka Amano's illustrations.
There is an entirely new dungeon dubbed "Arcane Sanctuary". The dungeon makes use of the "word memory system", and depending on word selection there will be new enemies and unique dungeons. Also like in the GBA version there is a bestiary and an unlockable BGM music player. Other features do not change the GBA version much, even the difficulty is the same as in
Dawn of Souls.
