FX Football is a football management game. Originally released in Spain as FX Fútbol 2.0, it was renamed FX Eleven for the international Steam release and then one more time to FX Football. Players who own FX Fútbol 2.0 can register the game through the developer's website to receive a Steam key. It is the sequel to FX Fútbol and the second game in the series considered to be the spiritual successor to the PC Fútbol series by Dinamic Multimedia, an early Spanish development studio where some members of FX Interactive were also involved with.
The player manages a squad and needs to take care of the facilities and upgrade the stadium, hire coaches and players, define line-ups and ticket prices, manage finances etc. There are also various training sessions and the overall squad strategy can be determined. The game supports the first and second divisions of the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain and Italy, as well as the third division of the Spanish and Italian championships. All of these competitions are played simultaneously, and there are 450 teams and more than 11,000 players in total. The game does not carry an official license, but there is an in-game editor to edit the squads and the game supports mods where users have recreated the real teams, shields and kits. The matches are simulated with a 2D top-down view and live commentary. During a match it is possible to intervene and change tactics or substitute players. The outcome can also be determined automatically, skipping the match simulation. A full 3D view of matches is only available through the separate DLC FX Football: 3D Match.
