Game & Watch Crystal Screen: Climber

Game & Watch Crystal Screen: Climber. is the second of only three released games in the eight series of Game & Watch games published by Nintendo, also known as the Crystal Screen Series. This series consist of games previously released in the (New) Wide Screen Series, but with ergonomic features and new transparent screens. Unpublished in Japan.

One plays as a character, named Climber, who has to reach the 25 summits in the game. Blocks will appear and stop the progress, but these can be destroyed by a few jumps. If one gets stuck on a single platform a second character, Blockman, arrives. If he touches your character one will loose a life, if he first touches a hole, previously made by you or a natural one, he'll automatically turns into a platform, therefore allowing you to progress. With the help of the mystical bird Hatori and progressing through the levels one encounters a boss, on a 5 level interval, which you have to beat with a sword. Besides the tactical aspect of creating and destroying platforms, one has to take into account moving platforms and thorn plants blocking your way. Some versions of the game Climber were sold with a small illustrated plastic pouch, when applied to the G&W game ended up creating a mountain background for the game.
