Fun beat 'em up that ties in with the film well

The Good
I remember getting this game as a gift for winning the school spelling bee in 2005. Such an accomplishment... what better way to celebrate with my favorite thing, video games! Anyways, in contrast to its 3D counterparts, The Incredibles for the GBA is a 2D side-scrolling beat 'em up, in the vein of classics such as Final Fight and Streets of Rage. Plot-wise, it follows the hit Pixar film accurately, from beginning to end; in fact, many scenes are from the film are replicated in the game as in-game cutscenes. The four heroes each have unique styles of gameplay: Mr. Incredible plays like your typical beat 'em up character. Dash's stages are high speed auto-scrolling stages. Elastigirl plays somewhat similar to Mr. Incredible, albeit having her unique stretching ability, while violent uses her invisibility powers. Frozone is playable at one point, his stages being auto-scrolling "skate" stages. All in all, the gameplay is somewhat varied for its genre.

The Bad
Despite the variety of gameplay, it can get repetitive at times. Some of the enemies can be annoying and cheap, and the music gets old after a while.

The Bottom Line
Not a bad game at all; I highly recommend it to beat 'em up fans!
