Mega Man Battle Network 2 is a fun RPG that anyone can get into. You don't have to be a Mega Man. But once you play this, you will be.
Overall, I found MMBN2 to be a highly enjoyable experience. It features a fast-paced and addictive battle system, a fun character development system, and some nice graphics. If you own a GBA and you like RPGs (and if you're reading this, I'm assuming you do), then you owe it to yourself to pick this one up. You won't be disappointed.
This is exactly what a GBA game should be: Battle Network 2 has a simple interface, a cool character, plenty of gameplay variety and strategy, and an addictive quality. Like the first game, MMBN2 continues the RPG element set in the future where everyone’s life revolves around a virtual world and their virtual PETs – yours being Mega Man.
Wer den Vorgänger mochte, wird garantiert auch am zweiten Teil Gefallen finden. Neulinge des Mega Man Battle Netwerk erwartet ein innovatives, aber leider komplett englisches Rollenspiel mit hübscher Isometrie-Grafik und kindgerechter Sciencefiction-Story.
One of the better features of MMBN2 is the ability for players to carry over a number of chips from the first game in the Retro Chip Trader and players can also trade chips with friends who also own copies of MMBN2 increasing your arsenal through simple exchange or through battling. It’s actually quite fun using your NetNAVI against your friends because those battles are particularly fierce, similar to the workings of the multiplayer in the Pokemon GBA games
Like I said last year, the Mega Man Battle Network game structure is surprisingly good, and the sequel continues to move the series forward. It doesn't do anything to advance it, though...but there wasn't a whole lot wrong with the formula in the first place. I will make one suggestion that needs to get into the game in its next incarnation: Auto Map. The net is absolutely massive, and it'd be extremely helpful if the game kept track of where you've already been...especially since the platforms intertwine and teleport you to different areas of the network.
Mega Man Battle Network 2 retains the spirit of the Mega Man series and polishes the innovative gem that was the previous game even further. While the game could be likened to a collection RPG because of its card-battle-like mechanics, it features much more plot detail and direction than such games normally provide. A well-paced RPG that offers unique and challenging battles and a lighthearted story, Battle Network 2 also hosts a wealth of secrets and extras available both during the initial play-through and after the game has been completed. For fans of the first title or those looking for an RPG with a great battle system, Battle Network 2 is a worthy choice.
Battle Network 2 is a definite departure from the usual style of Mega Man games - but it is a good thing. While at times it seems incredibly cheap and hard, it is still an amazingly fun and addictive adventure and will keep you coming back.

In the end, Mega Man Battle Network 2 is not going to compete with the likes of Zelda or Breath of Fire. It does, however, provide a friendly role-playing experience with familiar characters in a setting that is easy to navigate. Fans of the character and players looking for an "entry-level" RPG will want to give this a look.
The second title in each Megaman series adds much to the formula to improve on the original. Megaman Battle Network 2 is no exception. With the recent news that the third title is under development it looks like Megaman and RPGs are becoming as inseparable as Mario and Nintendo. And that might even turn out to be a good thing.
In some ways, Mega Man Battle Network 2 gives the impression that the series is just hitting its stride. The battle chip combat system is as smooth as silk, the dungeons are less tedious and less confusing than the first adventure, and there are fewer "what the heck am I supposed to do now?" moments to jam up the game's flow.
