All in all, if you enjoyed the previous 3, are looking for a good old platforming romp with new features or are looking to dust off your Game Boy Advance before Gunstar Super Heroes is released, then Zero 4 is the game to get.

Zero's newest game is just as short as the others (it took me about five hours my first time through), but there is the aforementioned replay mode, plus a couple of harder difficulties to unlock, and even some weird mini-games that open up when you beat the main game. It ends up being at least as big as most GBA action games, but Mega Man Zero 4 is of much higher quality than most of those others. It looks incredible, sounds great, and plays beautifully…what's not to love? If you haven't yet tried out this excellent series, this is the best game to start on.

While Megaman Zero 4 isn't that big of an update to Zero 3, it is nonetheless a lot of fun. What Zero 4 is is a deeper experience with lots of tiny extras tacked onto the classic 2D style gameplay that all Blue Bomber fans enjoy. If you like Megaman even a little, then Zero 4 is worth picking up.

I haven't played any previous installments of the Mega Man Zero series, but after playing Mega Man Zero 4, it makes me want to track down the previous releases. This is a polished, dead-on addition to a franchise in which a sore thumb stands out. The post-apocalyptic sci-fi story balances the great side-scrolling action for a truly satisfying experience.

Mega Man Zero 4 does everything you'd expect from a genre as venerable as platformers but refines the experience as well as any game. The controls are smooth and consistent, the graphics are sharp and the fighting is satisfying once you put in the practice. There may be a lot of platformers for the GBA, but few are as solid as this series.

Ansonsten hält auch Zero 4 wieder alles was es verspricht: tolle Action, herausfordernde Bossgegner und interessante Konzepte wie den nützlichen Waffenklau. Spielerisch ist der Titel logischerweise altbacken, aber was erwartet man denn von einem Mega Man-Titel? Jedenfalls nicht, dass man nach dem Durchspielen etwas wie »zu einfach« von sich gibt – der Easy-Modus ist wirklich lächerlich leicht, in Verbindung mit der sehr kurzen Spieldauer hinterlässt er ein merkwürdiges Gefühl im Spielermagen, welches sich aber spätestens auf »Hard« wieder verzieht – aaaaaah, das ist schon besser. Okay, das ist zwar angewandter Spiele-Masochismus, aber bei gewissen Serien muss das wohl so sein. Zero 4 ist mal wieder 2D-Sidescroller-Action vom Feinsten, mit allen bewährten Vor- und Nachteilen.

With all the new additions (Zero Knuckle being my favorite) and the loss of the overabundance of the Cyber-Elves, Mega Man Zero 4 is a fine platforming game. It is actually one of the better Mega Man games I have played in a long time even though that’s not really saying much. If you aren’t a fan of the series or new to the series entirely, the game will be extremely hard and won’t welcome you with warm arms. With the lack of AAA games on the Gameboy Advance, I suggest you pick up Mega Man Zero 4 just in case you are having withdrawals of not playing your GBA anymore.

Encore une fois, Megaman Zero expose aux yeux des amateurs d'action les possibilités que peut contenir un concept réfléchi et puisé jusqu'à ses tréfonds. Dynamique, intéressant, concentré de plaisir, le titre de Capcom revient à ses premières amours et retrouve la spontanéité puissante de l'opus originel. En ces temps où le nouveau volet de Castlevania DS provoque l'admiration, voici son pendant futuriste sur la plus modeste GBA. Un duo de choc qui vous ouvrira les portes d'un bonheur intense.
Zero 4 still runs into some problems with overly generous hit detection and not allowing you to see far enough ahead to plan out your moves, but if your GBA hole needs plugging this is a good choice.
Mega Man Zero 4 is a game that did not bring all that much variation to the franchise, gameplay-wise. To be absolutely fair, the game didn't really need to, because it offered so much solid side scrolling action, especially with the Cyber Elves collection that really amounted into a very fun game. For fans of the Zero series do not expect anything new in the series, but instead just realize that it is the same great game with new levels and new bosses. If you are a fan of the Zero series, then you should go out and go purchase this game, as it is a fun and intriguing Mega Man game that I would definitely recommend.

On the surface, Mega Man Zero 4 may not seem like a very big upgrade from the last three games, and frankly, it isn't. It is, however, a refined version of an outstanding platformer series, and with games in this genre becoming more and more rare these days (especially good ones), it's hard to not recommend this title.

Longtime fans that aren't yet bored with the Mega Man formula will find more of what they like in Mega Man Zero 4. Of course, that also means that anyone who didn't already enjoy Mega Man before won't find anything to change his or her mind here. The core game is still tough-as-nails, even if all of Zero's weapons and abilities are much, much easier to manage here than they were in games past.

It's almost like I'm repeating myself, but it has to be said: don't expect a whole lot new in Mega Man Zero 4. This is more a continuation of what's already been established in Mega Man Zero, Zero 2, and Zero 3. But even with that noted, it also has to be mentioned that even with the déjà vu all over again the game still works, especially if you haven't picked up any of the previous three games.

Doit-on une fois encore succomber aux charmes de Zero ? Certes, Megaman Zero 4 apporte quelques nouveautés à son gameplay mais son manque flagrant d’ambition et le sentiment de jouer au même titre que l’an passé lui jouent forcément des tours. Ceux qui souhaitent prendre la série en cours de route peuvent commencer par cet épisode, malgré ses nombreux défauts. Pour les autres, Megaman Zero 4 reste un titre commun, parfois proche de l'ennui et donc tout à fait dispensable.

Zero 4 is a solid enough game dragged down by the fact that we've seen it all before, and often in a much better form. The impressively conclusive ending suggests this will be the final entry in the Zero series, so it's a shame it couldn't have ended on a more inspiring note. Then again, Capcom's never been one to pass up a sequel even after a franchise has run its course, so who knows... maybe next time.
Mega Man looks good and sounds good, but that was never a problem. What it needs is a gameplay overhaul. If it doesn't go in a new direction, I will.
