GameSpot (Jan 17, 2001)
Looney Tunes Racing has a way to go before it can stack up to the big boys. However, it would be the perfect game to use to introduce younger gamers to the joy of portable kart racing. In every category, be it gameplay, sound, or visuals, the game turns in a performance aimed solidly at children. As such, you may wish to occupy yourself with Wacky Races or Woody Woodpecker Racing, but your children would probably welcome a chance to give Looney Tunes Racing a spin.
IGN (Feb 07, 2001)
Wacky Racers was a much better version of the game that Looney Tunes Racing tries to be - which is a shame, because I'm a huge Looney Tunes fan and never cared for the Hanna Barbara cartoon series Infogrames acquired the license for last year. Other than the wabbit, the Super Genius, and the Dethpicable Duck sitting behind the wheels, you've seen this game done before on the handheld - better than it was done here.
Allt som allt är Looney Tunes Racing ett godkänt racingspel för de yngre.
To be (kind of) fair, racing does not transfer well to handheld systems. Looney Tunes Racing is no exception. Infogrames is just trying to put too much game into not enough platform. The different power-ups and characters are kind of interesting, but everything just ends up looking like colored blobs. The sounds are severely limited, and the controls…well, left/right/left/right is taxing on anyone’s patience. If you really feel the need to play LTR, get the PS-X version. Steer clear of this one.
I feel sorry for any developer forced to do a racing game for the Game Boy. The power-ups in this game show signs of good intentions, but the racing sucks like every other GBC racer.
