Advertising Blurbs - Wii:
Double Dribble, the first 5-on-5, full-court home-basketball game, is pure hoops action at its finest. While still a surprisingly accurate basketball game for its time, the frantic action keeps you on your toes as your players run from one end of the court to the other. Choose from a handful of teams and multiple levels of difficulty as you take on the computer alone or challenge a friend and see who has the better skills. Take the ball and sink shots from locations all over the court, or get in your opponent’s face and do your best to block the shot. Better yet, drive the lane and rock the rim to see one of the game’s trademark slam-dunk cut scenes! He shoots, he scores!

The Official Nintendo Player's Guide (1987):

It's full-court, board-banging action with five-man teams, and a stadium full of roaring fans. The 24-second shot clock, free throws, three pointers, and foul shots are all part of this basketball game with all the challenge and excitement of the real court.

GAME PLAY: Pick from three levels of play depending on your "b-ball" skills, when playing the computer. Or play a friend, and pick from four top professional teams. Dribble the ball, and snap a quick pass to your man in the lane for a crowd-thrilling slam dunk and two quick points. It's not always like this. Your opponent catches on to your game fast, and blocks the path down the lane. If you're feeling hot, you can even let a ringer fly from three-point territory. So get out your high tops and show your stuff!

Back of Box - NES:

The Ball Is In Your Court, And It’s Time To Play A Little 5 On 5.

Finally it’s here. The basketball game you’ve dreamed of. The first home game with 5 on 5, full court, board banging action. A contest with graphics so real, they’ll knock your high tops off.

Ready to captain your team to the title, you bolt into the arena with electricity in your fingers and ice in your veins. Intensity builds. The crowd roars. The game is yours to win or lose. But to win you’ll need speed in the lane, touch for three pointers, muscle to power past picks, and the skill to crash the glass. And, if you break free underneath – watch out! Because now you can power home a rim rockin’ slam.

So, pull up your shorts and take a deep breath. It’s crunch time, time to show your stuff.
