Overall, I found Zoids: Battle Legends quite enjoyable. The Zoids look fantastic but the environments and effects could have been better. The music was spot on and fit the Zoid atmosphere very well. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the sound effects and that incredibly annoying whooshing noise. I really had no major complaints and if you’re a Zoids fan you should definitely own this title; don’t pass it up. For $19.99-$29.99, who would?

While Zoids: Battle Legends had the makings of a decent action game, it falls short due to several key issues. For starters, the lock-on system needs serious work. It arbitrarily locks on to enemies behind you when it’s supposed to focus on the closest enemies, regardless of their position. Movement feels awkward at best, with vehicles lacking any real sense of weight. The main story mode is also maddeningly difficult, even during the earliest of stages. A fact worsened by the bad control. Only recommended for fans of the show with superfluous funds.
