.After Burner II in the arcades is basically a rebalanced and updated version of After Burner, and is the version that most people probably played. Similarly, though the home conversions bear either title, they all seem to be based on After Burner II and, given the hardware limitations of the time, it would be difficult to distinguish even if they were based on the first one instead anyway.

Heck, the NES version was called After Burner in the US, but After Burner II in Japan, leading us to have an NES platform for both games (even though they're identical apart from some rebranding). Similarly, the Atari ST release of each game appears identical from the screenshots we have on file.

Opinions? If not to merge, then someone needs to do some serious untangling between the entries.

The Amiga version certainly differs. One version is a port of the ST version with a marquee covering much of the screen, another one is full-screen. There may be two ST versions as well, for all I know.

The C64 has a UK and a US version, it may be that both are called Afterburner II, or only one of them. And are you sure that the Sunsoft and Tengen versions are the same?

The entries need some cleaning up, but merging may mean that we merge two separate ports into one.
