So is the game more fun than spending Saturday morning watch the cartoon? Well, you'll definitely use your brain more and believe it or no, you'll miss the commercials, but if you've got the time, TecMagik has a Tweet in store for you.
Sega Force (Oct 19, 1994)

Cagey Capers has it all! The fast-paced gameplay and incredible graphics and sound make it one of the best carts I've seen this year. If you're a fan of TV 'toons or you just want something new out of a platform game, then without a doubt, this game's for you!
If you're expecting a game similar to Sunsoft's Looney Tunes platform adventures, Sylvester and Tweety will be a cool surprise for you: it's almost a strategy game!
Consoles Plus (Sep, 1994)
This game is as close as you can get on the Sega Genesis to fully immersing yourself in an interactive cartoon. From the first minute of the opening song to the final scratch of the bird, this game looks, feels, and sounds like a real cartoon adventure. And you are part of the action.
Play Time (Nov, 1994)
Mega Play Magazine (Jul, 1994)
The lack of good pay control is the major drawback in this cart. The graphics and voices are fantastic. The items to use are cute and the levels just add to the fun. A good game for kids.
This sports excellent graphics and sound you have to hear, but after missing that precise jump with the less-than-perfect control, you'll probably get incredibly frustrated. If not for that, this one would have scored higher.

I do have to give the developers credit for genuinely trying to craft a game around the concept of the cartoon. While the strategy involved in completing levels is an illusion, it still feels different enough to be special. It is short and when difficult, only in a frustrating rather than challenging way, and it has many of the typical design flaws so many platformers of the time did. Despite this, Cagey Capers can still be entertaining while it lasts and is certainly a cautious recommendation to anyone who enjoyed games like Taz-Mania.
