The game also packs dynamic gameplay with the controlling of two characters by one player. three difficulty settings keep the challenge at your level. Just remember: Don't give up! there's a great surprise ending that's truly something worth Trouble Shooting for!

I can't recommend Trouble Shooter enough. Shooter and action fans alike are sure to enjoy it, and it should be cheap enough to find with little effort. Ignore the box and just enjoy the game for the great little shooter that it is. I'm well aware that its sequel is much better, but I'd have to hock a kidney to find a copy, and I kind of need the two I have. The original should be more than enough to get started with though, so get to eBay and find a copy!

Oddly enough, this game is one player only, but Trouble Shooter is still a blast to play. You control both Madison AND Crystal: they move together and shoot back-to-back. At any time, you can also redirect the girl on the left to shoot forwards, doubling your firepower, but that leaves you vulnerable in the back. It's a unique system that's surprisingly effective. You have a load of firepower and special weapons (smart bombs) to choose from before each mission. The background story is ridiculous and the music is wacky, but this game has personality. The enemies and bosses are cartoonish but imaginative and well drawn, and the layered backgrounds are an eyeful. With only five stages, this game is short but definitely worthwhile.
The graphics in Trouble Shooter are pretty nice, especially the cute girls and cool bosses. The music is a bit heavy on the drums, but it rocks pretty hard for a Genesis game. Overall, Trouble Shooter looks and sounds very professional. With its dual-action firepower, Trouble Shooter would make a nice two-player game, but unfortunately this is not the case. As it stands, it is one heck of a good time, even though you have to play it by yourself.
The power-up system sucks (you pick a special weapon between stages, otherwise its your plain old pulse rifles), and the game is way too short at five stages, but I’m still strangely drawn to it. There are enough shooter-style games in the Genesis to stun the Empire itself, but very few horizontal shooters are as fast or addicting as Trouble Shooter. Still, it isn’t going to set any records. It will simply go down as the game featuring two bimbos who save the day… if you win. Otherwise it’s just the game featuring two bimbos who go down. Wait, that didn’t come out right.
