Trivia

Title and Trademark

The first hint of Giga Wrecker's existence came in April 2016, when it was discovered that Game Freak had filed a trademark for Gigareki. Prior to the game's official announcement, it was widely assumed that Gigareki was the name of an unreleased Pokémon, as it had been announced less than two months prior that Pokémon Sun and Moon were in active development. All three games were developed by Game Freak.
