Xbox 360Loot Ninja (Mar 04, 2010)
As you progress through the missions, you first fight only one enemy team at a time, then eventually multiple teams at once, until you have 4 teams on each map, and you must remain victorious over all of them to win the level. Greed Corp is a fantastic game for fans of the genre, and first-timers will love it too. It’s easy to play, but still challenging, and the production values are high. Of all the recent releases in the Xbox Live Arcade, Greed Corp is easily in the top three. My advice, buy this game and play the heck out of it. It’s a blast. It’s available on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Visually and musically Greed Corp is a genuine treat, providing a visible and low-pitched knowledge that should make usually about anyone smile. Watching a towers pulp and take little hiker armies divided with them is really a treat, and W!Games did an positively illusory pursuit of creation a universe that, yet crumbling, players wish to take partial in. It also lays a good grounds for any destiny sequels, with plain grounds such as this one can usually wish that there will be another diversion simply to see what a developers come adult with.

WindowsThe Star (Dec 17, 2010)
This is the first game set in what developers W!Games call the “Mistbound” universe, a steampunkish fantasy world of scarcity and, obviously, corporate greed. I don’t know what they plan as a follow-up, but if they maintain this level of polish and thoughtfulness, this commitment to taking cool new ideas and seeing them through properly, they really can’t go wrong. Greed Corps is joy at every level, a cross-platform must-have.

Bottom line is that Greed Corp is a creative, charming and challenging strategy game that has a wonderful look. The nice jazzy soundtrack doesn't hurt either. Also taking into consideration the low price, Greed Corp is simply a great game to own.

WindowsPC4War (Jan, 2011)

Xbox 360TeamXbox (Feb 25, 2010)
Greed is, quite literally, the name of the game here. You’ve got to take what you want, keep what you’ve got and make sure you come out on top in the end. Win or lose, though, you’re guaranteed to have a good time with the experience. Who knew that an XBLA game would ultimate prove ol’ Gordon Gekko right? Greed, at least in this case, is definitely good.

iPadTouch Arcade (Nov 04, 2011)
Still, I'd recommend Greed Corp -- flaws and all. It's a strategy board game that feels right at home on iPad, and it outdoes much of its competition on the platform. I wouldn't get it solely for online multiplayer, but with a vast single-player campaign and support for up to four local players, it's a gem of a game for any other purpose. If you're on the fence, swing by our discussion thread for more opinions, but they're mostly glowing. Rightfully so. For a game that drags you into despicably greedy behavior, Greed Corp HD is gorgeous, well designed and fun.

When a game looks this beautiful, there is an impulse to just purchase it immediately, but when there is solid gameplay to back it up, the purchase is all the more appealing. Greed Corp manages to find a balance between resource management and creative combat that will surely keep audiences coming back for game after game. As long as players aren’t looking for something that utilizes Game Center, this is most definitely the right place to start.

Xbox 360Neoseeker (Feb 28, 2010)
Too shy for online multiplayer? The single-player campaign is challenging enough on its own and offers hours upon hours of play. Priced at $10 for consoles (PC version coming soon), Greed Corp is easily one of the best titles found on Xbox LIVE Arcade. Of course, this is an absolute must by if you dig strategy games, though anyone can learn the basics after a couple runs through the tutorial. Ultimately, Greed Corp will be easy to learn but difficult to master.

PlayStation 3Go! Gaming Giant (Mar 07, 2010)
Greed Corp is a unique experience that should be had by any gamer, even if land grab games don’t appeal to them. I went into this game expecting little, but got a great amount of fun in return. The game is extremely easy to learn, and it certainly pays off in the long run. I only had one small gripe, and that would be the fact that the tutorial was fairly lacking. Although it did play out an entire match for you, it didn’t explain what exactly you were doing. It just ran through the motions of what an experienced player would do. Because of this, playing a few quick games to get a true idea of how to play will be in order, but if you enjoy it as much as I did, your spent time will pay off.

Xbox 360Gamers Daily News (Mar 02, 2010)
The game is pretty cool all around. The graphics are interesting and help to keep your mind in the game. The soundtrack harkens back to the heady days of the Charleston and the first trans-atlantic crossings by a solo pilot. They weave together a universe that tells a story, a story that you want to see through to the end and the only way to do that is to keep playing. Who will stand on the last piece of land? That’s for you to decide.

Xbox 360Gamers' Temple, The (2010)
Greed Corp's unique mechanic of balancing the need for resources with the need to keep your empire from crumbling into oblivion makes it an interesting and engrossing little strategy game. The rules of play are simple, but mastering the game is anything but simple. It's recommended to anyone who enjoys a strategy game that actually requires a good deal of strategic thinking.

Xbox 360IGN (Feb 24, 2010)
If you fancy yourself a fan of either turn-based strategy games or heady board games, you'll definitely want to check out Greed Corp. The fact that you have to destroy the ground beneath your feet in order to harvest resources makes for some fascinating choices. It's designed for multiplayer and has friendly on- and offline features, but the single-player campaign is also great fun. Watching Greed Corp.'s tiles crumble into dust has been one of my favorite gaming moments of the year so far.

Xbox 3609lives (Mar 07, 2010)

Xbox 360Cheat Code Central (2010)
Greed Corp. is an excellent, user-friendly turn-based strategy title. Both the single-player and multiplayer portions of the game are great fun and boast loads or replay value. Of course, this is a title for those in search of quick bouts of superb strategy gaming. If you're looking for drawn out, epic competitions, or if you only have the patience for popping melons with a scoped rifle, Greed Corp. is not for you. I'll be anxious to see how this is received by the gaming community at large, because Greed Corp. has the markings of a go-to strategy franchise.

GoW 3, Bad Company 2, Final Fantasy XIII, Heavy Rain...Greed Corp!

Xbox 360MS Xbox World (2010)
Greed Corp has an expansive set of single player campaigns, custom matches against the AI, and of course, multiplayer support across Xbox Live. It's a great way to spend thirty minutes or an hour, or to get lost in fully on a day off. If you truly enjoy the gameplay, which is Greed Corp's most important and distinguishing feature, then you'll get as much as you want out of this surprisingly fun title. For just 800 Microsoft points, it's definitely worth a long look.

Xbox 360AceGamez (Mar 22, 2010)
Overall, Greed Corp is a highly enjoyable title, but one that needs your devotion in sticking it through a few plays before you truly appreciate it. It’s got a lot to offer, and once you get over the initial feeling of being thrown into a confusing and original playing system, you’ll feel immersed in a world full of tactics, multiplayer madness and challenging strategy that will have you coming back for more time and time again.

Danke an Entwickler W! Games!

WindowsGirl Gamers UK (Jan 04, 2011)
Featuring a really nice visual style, decent soundtrack, involving gameplay and quite a lot of content, Greed Corp is a well-rounded package. But when you consider the asking price of just £7.99 on Steam (or £3.99 as of writing this), it becomes apparent what a bargain this game is. For strategy gamers who like to plot and plan ahead, W!Games has come up with possibly the perfect package.

Xbox 360GameFocus (Mar 10, 2010)
While the focus may be on multiplayer, W!Games has put a lot of effort into the single player experience. There are plenty of levels to play through and, as you progress, the skill level changes to provide new challenges with every map. For 800 MS Points ($10), you are getting more bang for your buck here than with most titles on the market. Proof positive that Greed can be a good thing, W!Games has developed an incredibly simple, yet decidedly deep, game that’s worthy of a place in your collection.

WindowsElectronic Theatre (Jan 06, 2011)
As a debut title setting the pace for a new fictional universe, Greed Corp makes a good effort to be compelling. With the far more prominent competition in the PC market, Greed Corp is certainly going to have a tougher time getting noticed – even with some rather well placed campaigning on Steam – but for those who do choose to invest, it’s unlikely many will leave disappointed. Greed Corp on PC is the first step into a difficult market for W!Games, and one that’s been handled gracefully.

I’ve said this often but it bears repeating. We’re living in a fantastic age where digital distribution allows niche games like Greed Corp. to find an audience and flourish. The concepts behind this turn-based strategy are simple enough for most people to pick up and play (presuming they skip the maddening tutorial and just dive right in) but as the cliché goes, it takes a second to learn and a century to master. Here’s hoping a robust community builds in support as this makes for an engaging strategic pursuit. Greed is good!

Supporting up to four players at once, the game lends itself brilliantly to playing with your mates (locally or online), but is equally good fun against the computer in the hugely challenging campaign mode. A word of warning, though: the tutorial barely scratches the surface, and unless you're persistent and can deal with plenty of initial trial and error, Greed Corp will take time to appreciate. Once it clicks, though, this is a hugely absorbing and satisfying journey into pure strategy gaming.

If you like playing matches against the computer, then Greed Corp is the game for you. The game is incredibly fun, and matches will be different with each replay, even if you are playing against the computer. Matches typically last between 10 to 2o minutes, so the game is easy to pick up and jump right into. On the other hand, you could spend hours replaying different matches. This is a game I would recommend to everybody, mostly so that I’ll actually have people to play against online.

For a game with simple mechanics set in an apocalyptic world dominated by hyper-capitalistic avarice, Greed Corp. is surprisingly fun and lighthearted. The short matches, easy-to-learn interface, and approachable price point make this game ideal for a more casual player, though more serious gamers who don’t mind clean simplicity in a game may also enjoy it thoroughly.

Xbox 360Worth Playing (Jul 22, 2010)
Greed Corp is a very surprising and entertaining title. The lack of different units makes the management of your army pretty simple, while the terrain deformation adds a pretty unique element to the proceedings. The game looks good, sounds fine and controls well. Most importantly, the game has an addictive quality that begs for one more match to be played just as you're finishing your current one. Strategy fans will be in for a pleasant surprise upon picking up Greed Corp.

Greed Corp has been a welcoming surprise. While it’s not considered to be part of the ‘Xbox House Party’ line-up (probably due to being multiplatform) in many cases it deserves far more attention than those that are. With a lengthy story-mode, on and offline multiplayer and endless replay-value, for 800MSP/£7.99 it’s an absolute steal. Even in this busy period of triple-A releases, you could do a lot worse than find a free moment to check it out.

Part TBS, part puzzler, some may consider it too intense and hardcore to sit comfortably on Xbox Live Marketplace, and some equally may think it up against far greater opposition when found on Steam. I, however, think it marries the merits of the accessibility required for console play with the thought provoking qualities of a PC strategy game to a tee.

WindowsBrash Games (Dec 21, 2010)
Greed Corp is a brilliant but imperfect turn-based strategy. It provides a fun, original and thoroughly addictive experience with an intuitive and cleverly devised hexagonal system. The audio and visuals really make you feel like you’re impacting the battles and immerse you convincingly into the gameplay, and a well-structured and appropriately challenging campaign keeps you glued. Though finishing the campaign leaves room for some replayability, once you finish it, experimentation and gameplay in the campaign itself and in battles don’t feel as addictive, and the online experience is disappointing to say the least. Despite this, Greed Corp is cute, fun and satisfying – and with any luck, a sequel will polish this diamond.
80
WindowsGamingUnion.net (Dec 10, 2010)
So overall, is Greed Corp worth playing? If you're a fan of any strategy game, turn based or otherwise, it absolutely is. Few games out there break forward with such a unique concept, let alone actually provide players with a challenge both on and offline. Greed Corp's active humor and imagination provide for a fun setting, but the deep mechanics and extremely unique unit/terrain gameplay are both addictive and engaging. Though some may be turned off by the amount of time one would have to spend to really get good at the strategy, this 'amount' is completely subjective to the individual. Some may find it surprisingly easy to get into, others may take a little while longer to grasp the idea. Either way, Greed Corp provides a solid experience for any gamer who needs a little more challenge in their life.
80
WindowsBrutal Gamer (2010)
Greed Corp is an addictive strategy game that has endless possibilities, as the unique quality of the board itself being expendable means each match will have a different ending. You will get a lot of play out of this game for the $9.99 Steam download price. Greed Corp is fun and colorful, both visually and in sound; this game just gives an all-around pleasant experience. I give Greed Corp an 8 out of ten, and recommend it for fans of turn-based strategy, and absolutely anyone who likes Risk.

WindowsResolution Magazine (Dec 14, 2010)
Whether you’ll actually enjoy Greed Corp depends on your patience and attention span. If you’re someone who constantly yearns adrenaline, Greed Corp will struggle to satisfy that need. On the other hand, with a lovely art style supporting its easy-to-learn, difficult-to-master gameplay, anyone who gives it the time will find themselves rewarded with a well rounded title. It lives up to its genre’s description – turned based strategy of a fantastic quality.

Greed Corp is an entertaining and rather original take on the traditional hexagonal turn-based strategy game. It's toughness may mean it doesn’t appeal to all, but it's worth giving it time, and eventually you'll find ways to succeed. Even in failure, though, it always manages to be fun.

WindowsSquare Go (Jan 03, 2011)
A solid, if slightly flawed tactical game from an unlikely source - just goes to show that you cannot judge a new developer from their first game. In all likelihood it provided the finance to conceptualise their grand ambition, and for that we are thankful.

PlayStation 3Thunderbolt Games (Mar 10, 2010)
Greed Corp. is a great debut for the Mistbound universe and is sure to please turn-based strategy fans. Its clever use of environmental destruction creates a faster paced game while its light feature set cuts down the steep learning curve the genre can be known for. Greed Corp. puts strategy first, delivering a game that fits the venerable bill of easy to learn but hard to master. Furthermore, it finally proves destroying the environment is actually quite fun.
80
PlayStation 3GameSpot (Mar 08, 2010)
The pro-environmental message in Greed Corp is easy enough to grasp, but the inner workings of this surprisingly complex strategy game are not so easily understood. But once you figure out how to properly balance your insatiable need for money with the earth's penchant for crumbling under your money-grubbing desires, a world of destructible possibilities reveals itself. And at only $9.99, you can be happy developer W!Games wasn't too greedy.
80
Xbox 360Thunderbolt Games (Mar 09, 2010)
Accompanied by smooth jazz, the game sells the gloomy atmosphere W!Games is going for quite nicely, as they seem to be holding themselves to the dreary overtones and highly industrialized themes at the center of Greed Corp.’s style. It’s a different sort of game, filling its niche fairly well. This is a surprisingly good introduction to the universe of Mistbound, even if the dynamic layers of the playing field aren’t necessarily enough to make it a better game than the German-style board games that inspired it. If you’re looking into buying Greed Corp., just be sure that you’re doing so for the right reasons; while the game’s not for everyone, players with enough patience to wade through the tutorial, however, will find an enjoyable, lengthy campaign, complimented by a promising Xbox Live mode that just doesn’t have the backing of a strong community.

And at only 800 Microsoft points, you can be happy developer W!Games wasn't too greedy.

Overall, Greed Corp is a good game, and one that if you give it a couple of hours, it will be a game that you can at least appreciate. It’s not for everyone, but I urge everyone to at least give it a try. If you like it, then you have found a good place to spend ten dollars. If not, there are plenty of other games that are worthy of your time right now. I just hope that developers go back to the drawing board, and if they can make a game similar to this, but for a more main stream audience, then they will have something that will truly shine, and be played by tons of people.

Greed is good!

In all, Greed Corp is very different from typical strategy but a lot of fun - it feels like a really good tabletop board game and is easy to play, and is well put together. I hope it catches on with the Live community, because I really want to play it with someone else who appreciates this unique game. Download Greed Corp from Xbox Live Arcade, and see for yourself.

Greed Corp is probably not a title for everyone, but the value-to-cost ratio is great. For a mere 800 Microsoft points, you'll easily get 30 to 40 hours out of the campaign mode alone, and then, of course there's always "create a game" to set yourself up against the hardest opponents on your favorite maps.

PlayStation 3Game Shark (Mar 12, 2010)
For about ten bucks, which is likely six to seven times less than a boxed Greed Corp board game would cost at retail, the game gives players a lot of value. There are four campaigns, one for each faction as well as ad hoc skirmish matches and a full multiplayer suite. Over Xbox Live or PSN, playing the game with friends is much the same as it would be over a kitchen table, but you can do it at three o’clock in the morning on your couch and in pajamas, with friends that live at the far-flung corners of the world. Add in a full range of achievements and titles as well as three AI difficulty levels and tons of maps, and it becomes a very attractive package for its price for gamers looking for more online tabletop games beyond the staple titles such as Catan or Magic: The Gathering.

Zugreifen.

PlayStation 3Go Fanboy (Mar 01, 2010)
As I said, this game theoretically rocks. Artistically wonderful, clever, original and fun. But due to poor AI, and some poorly explained mechanics; Greed Corp is just a "good" game. Worth the $10 (800MPS) for strategy fans and that is about it. Achievement hunters are warned, this is a brutal completion that not many will muster. Hopefully there will maintain a semi decent size of online players, as a dead community would make this game worthless.

Nevertheless, the major criticism of Greed Corp players will experience is the extremely steep learning curve. Whilst the game does feature a tutorial, it isn’t particularly effective, especially when players come to struggle through the game’s campaign, even as early on as the first level. Nonetheless, if players are willing to dedicate some time to the title and adapt to the game’s slightly-unforgiving gameplay, the reward is a thoroughly entertaining Xbox Live Arcade title.

WindowsGamesRadar (Jan 12, 2011)
The downside to this minimalist system is that there's no potential for expanding (or additional excitement, for that matter). There aren’t any new abilities to learn or new units to unlock - just additional maps and higher difficulty. Throughout the campaign you'll play as four different factions, but they differ only in appearance. Online multiplayer is there if you tire of the campaign, but win or lose, you can only play so much Greed Corp before you feel there's just nothing more to get out of it.

WindowsBlistered Thumbs (Jan 25, 2011)
Certainly the paucity of players for the games’ online multiplayer (I waited in a queue for a four-player match for several hours each night over a week and never once managed to gather the necessary number of players) just a month after its release seems to bear this concern out. Still, I do recommend that others give this game a once over, if for no other reason because I would love to see W!Games make a sequel to Greed Corp in the hopes they could further refine their excellent base gameplay. As it stands now, though: while overall an enjoyable experience, the lack of ambition on the part of Greed Corp’s gameplay, especially in comparison to its novel premise, causes the game to ultimately fall short of true greatness.

WindowsMash Those Buttons (Dec 16, 2010)
These minors issue aside, this is certainly a title to be recommended for strategy fans looking for a little more chaos in their lives. While the strategy employed in playing Greed Corp may be on the lean side, the game itself is fun, evocative of a party game, and a treat for anyone looking for something off the beaten path. However, like any fun party game it’s much more enjoyable when played with the right people.

Greed Corp is sold for only ten dollars on Steam and anyone interested would be wise to mention the title to friends. And as everyone knows, mayhem is always more fun with friends.

WindowsGameswelt (Dec 20, 2010)

Everest-style difficulty curve aside, Greed Corp is a pretty game with a great soundtrack that is also a throwback to pre-electronic gaming. Nothing about this game is innovative or outright exciting, but anyone who remembers (or still plays) classic board games will get a hell of a kick out of this.

These very limited options make Greed Corp excruciatingly tedious to play. The game does offer a challenging campaign and online play, but these standard features don’t alleviate the gameplay constraints. While Greed Corp offers a very intriguing economic system, the game suffers from limited strategies, a tedious end-game, and questionable longevity.

By all means grab a demo and give Greed Corp a go. It’s a very interesting take on turn-based strategy that will really appeal to some. W!Games have devised an intriguing system and done a really good job embellishing it with cracking visuals and sound. It’s a very accomplished product for its price, though whether it’ll keep players in for the long run is questionable.

Overall, Greed Corp offers an intriguing new twist to strategy gaming, putting you under just a little more pressure when considering your moves – it won’t hold your attention for long but while it does, it will keep you quite entertained. Personally, I like strategy games that require a great deal of thought and planning with each move – Greed Corp doesn’t offer much in the way of actions during the game and therefore you find yourself going through the same routine. As to whether the game justifies its price tag, that’s another question. I think a lower price range would have been a little fairer and by paying this you may feel a little hard done by! It will be interesting to see where they take this new, young franchise with potential to next and what type of game is to follow.

Greed Corp nobly attempts to simplify the genre, but takes it a few steps too far. I hear the game is supposed to be the first part of a series, so I'm definitely interested in seeing how the next one is fine-tuned...provided it's a turn-based strategy game this time around.
