The Halo Channel is an interactive video application for the Xbox One and Windows 8 devices that allows users to explore the Halo universe that was developed in the Halo series.
Halo Channel users can test their knowledge of the Halo universe through trivia questions, can participate in community polls (that for live video content can result in interactive programming that changes based on community response to the poll) and can unlock in-game content for Halo titles (like Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Halo 5: Guardians).
Video content on the Halo Channel includes original Halo programming (such as Halo: Nightfall, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn and Halo Legends), Halo entertainment (such as Red Vs. Blue), Halo news (such as 343 Industries' weekly news update The Bulletin) and Halo eSports (such as curated Halo Twitch streams).
When watching video content, users can access the Halo Encyclopedia and pull up information regarding the current scene including characters, weapons, vehicles, locations and more. During Halo Twitch streams, live game data is displayed to Halo Channel users along with the video stream and users have the ability to press a button to launch into a game similar to that they were watching.
The Halo Channel also has social features that allow users to share their favorite content and engage with the Halo community and with 343 Industries.
