Description
Hegemony Gold is a major expansion and upgrade to the historical real-time strategy game
Hegemony: Philip of Macedon. As in the original, the game takes place across a seamless map of ancient Greece and players have the ability to zoom between a 3D tactical view and a 2D strategy map at any time. Gameplay remains focused on battlefield tactics and establishing and defending your supply network but the additions of specific charging and flanking bonuses adds significant strategic depth. Also, a new recruits resource makes the outcome of battles more significant and an all new diplomacy system provides alternatives to military conquest.
Hegemony Gold includes the original Philip of Macedon campaign and adds two new campaigns set during the Peloponnesian War. The Archidamian campaign starts the player as Athens and follows the first third of the war up to the capture of the Spartans at Pylos while the second new campaign is called the Ionian War and starts the player as Sparta building a new fleet off the Ionian coast and culminates with the siege of Athens.
Hegemony Gold also adds a sandbox mode where the players can start as any of the 26 factions in the regular game and play without objectives.
