Description
Hellfire vests the player as Ulysses forcing him to pass a repeating set of three trials which will become increasingly more difficult after the player's initial first set of trials is successfully complete. The first trial begins in the slopes of Olympus, where dangerous boulders fall from the heights and the dreadful Gorgon roams between elevations with his petrifying glance, from which his shield would be the player's only salvation to defend against.
The second trial will be at the temple of Knossos where delusional columns either could throw Ulysses directly into the path of the relentless mighty Minotaur or become the bridge to his succeeding for another completed trial.
And finally the third trial of the set where Ulysses has been cornered in a maze with two kinds of monsters and precious chests filled with weaponry. He can use the limited number of weapons he has when he begins the trial or reload them when finding and reaching the chests.
Each trial has its own perspective and is aesthetically different from the others as if each one was a different game. The style is very arcade as for as the difficulty increases when the set of trials is passed and the process repeats itself increasingly with more obstacles. The game combines two different perspectives from isometric to a 3rd person platform view.
