Hexcells Infinite
Description
Hexcells Infinite is the third game in the ambient puzzle game series. It offers 36 new puzzles based on the same gameplay mechanics as the original Hexcells. Just like the original title they are divided into six groups and a new group is unlocked after achieving a certain score. The goal is to clear a board of adjacent orange hexagons by uncovering them, revealing a black one with a number or a blue one by clicking left or right respectively. Each board contains a set number of blue hexagons shown in the top right corner. Through math, deduction, exclusion, and uncovering the board from different directions, you need to reveal all hexes with as little mistakes as possible.
The game incorporates the additional mechanics such as blue hexes with numbers and guides, and black hexes with question marks introduced in Hexcells Plus, with no new elements beyond that. Next to the 36 levels it has a random puzzle generator based on a seed. Players can use a random seed or use the current date. A later update introduced pasting one or multiple seeds from the clipboard, for instance to play an interesting seed found by another player. This version introduces pausing a puzzle to resume it at a later time, a first for the series, and it supports cross-platform cloud saves. There are some tweaks to the interface and new sounds.
