Description
"Il Cane di Terracotta" is the name of the second novel of the internationally popular Inspector Montalbano mystery series by Sicilian writer Andrea Camilleri (1925-2019), first published in Italian in 1996. In 2000, the publisher of those novels, Sellerio editore from Palermo, released a computer game of the same name - in fact, it was subtitled as 'Cartone aminato interattivo", i.e. interactive animated cartoon. The game closely, even literally follows the story of the novel (based on the adventures of Sicilian police commissar Salvo Montalbano who, while chasing down a mafia crime, discovers an old cave with strange symbolic artifacts and the bodies of two young lovers, hidden there since World War II) - reproducing the dialogues in the form of rather crudely drawn and nicely voiced animations. The story is complemented by many interactive intermissions - mini-games of tests, puzzles, arcades etc. There is a small encyclopedia and a catalog of culinary recipes as well.Screenshots
