DescriptionIntrusion 2 is a fast-paced action-packed sci-fi platformer set on a 'reserve' planet occupied by a hostile military corporation conducting verboten weapons research. Gameplay is inspired by classic era side-scrollers such as Abuse and the Metal Slug series.
As you parachute down to a planet occupied by a hostile military corporation conducting forbidden weapon research, the rocket you rode in on crashes behind a mountain in the background and you begin at the top of a snow covered mountain range on foot, though some of the 'vehicles' which you can commandeer throughout the game include mechanized battle suits as well as a giant saddled wolf! The default move-with-the-keyboard, aim-and-shoot-with-the-mouse controls are very much inspired by the Abuse, though the game supports modern gamepads as well. The game has its own physics engine which all foreground objects are subject to (enemies, trees, crates, weapons, ammo, the player, etc...) so things are a bit different each time you play through the game.
Starting out with a default single pistol of unlimited ammo, the player can pick up better weapons and ammo for those weapons dropped by dead enemies and from crates which include a second pistol for dual pistol action (with limited ammo), an SMG, a rail gun that can blast through multiple enemies and shoot through many objects that block the bullets of the other guns, a plasma rifle, a grenade launcher of course and even large boulders can be utilized as weapons in certain situations. The different mechs that you can commandeer throughout the game have have different weapons themselves including a large rifle, sword, harpoon, heat-seeking missiles and an extending grapple-arm which can grapple to anything or can even grapple enemies, pull them toward you and toss them off into the sky. The enemies include different soldier types with different weapons and equipment, including some with jetpacks. The game also contains boss fights against large opponents.
