Could someone tell me more about this DOS release; http://www.mobygames.com/game/golden-axe/cover-art/gameCoverId,63163/

1) It look like that there was a red label first (the original conversion) and then a white label with the requirements was put over it for the DOS release, right? A Slash release.

2) Was there a Canadian release as well? In the release-info (http://www.mobygames.com/game/golden-axe/release-info) there is nothing about this. Only about the US release.

3) Could someone who may know about this OR have it in their possession or know someone who has this confirm that there was an US release for the C64/128?

1) This is Pseudo's cover & I see he promised to come back with back & floppy scans later. Well, it's been >10 years now...maybe soon now? ;-)

2) Without the missing scans, we have no hard data (yet) to create the release entry, apart from the contributors assurance that it is a Canadian box.

3) -I know naathing! (in Faulty Towers Manuel's voice). If it was available, you could search contemporary US magazine adverts/reviews for the game?

Actually, there is a Wiki showing this same cover with C64/128 sticker on it, and they claim this cover was only used in the US. (no linked source, unfortunately) https://www.c64-wiki.com/wiki/Golden_Axe

1) Okay.

2) Is it possible that it was an US release, but landed up in Canada and all? If you know what I mean.

3) And you probably from Barcelona and learn English from a book as well, ah? ;) (I LOVE Faulty Towers) I DO know that there was an European 5.25 release of the game, because I have it (But I misplaced it at this moment) and;

PS: Because the EAN is different than the tape version I should submit a new one in Release-info for the C64 and probably write the comments; Tape/Cassette Version and 5.25 Floppy Disk Version;

Commodore 64:

Published by: Virgin Mastertronic Ltd..

Developed by: Team Shinobi.

Ported by: Probe Software Ltd., Visual FX.

Graphics by: Visual FX.

Countries: France, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom . Release Date: 1990

EAN:

Comments: 5.25 Disk Version.

Edit: I want to point out that the TRONIX version for the C64 (Tape) is missing in the release-info, while it IS included in the Cover Art.

All I can tell you for sure is that it was bought in Canada, but the absence of bilingual labeling means it was not an actual Canadian release. I do not think I have this package anymore.
