Plants vs Zombies HD is everything you'd expect, with a little bit more.
IGN UK (Apr 05, 2010)
From the moment we saw the bizarre music video for Plants vs. Zombies we knew we wanted to play this game. It really is fantastic and stands right up there with PopCap's other hits like Peggle and Bejeweled. It has that elusive "special something" that gets its hooks in you and convinces you to skip food, sleep, and other essentials just to see what the next level has in store. If you've never played a tower defense game before, this is the one you should try. And at just $9.99, you're getting it for half the price of the PC original. It is an excellent deal.

So if you have an iPad, you’ll be wanting this one. It’s one of the best games currently available on the device, hands down. Now go forth and stop the undead rampage!
Pocket Gamer UK (Apr 08, 2010)
Plants vs. Zombies HD remains rooted in the comic tower defence gameplay that made previous versions such a pleasure.

Despite some minor criticisms, Plants vs Zombies is the perfect example of why casual games can appeal to hardcore gamers too. Conceptually original, easy to learn and with considerable depth, its a must play, no matter what platform you choose to play it on. I’d be willing to bet they could even make a compelling board game out of it. What…they have?!?

So, if you haven’t bought PVZ on your iPhone, get it on your iPad, and if you have already, maybe wait for a price drop (if it ever comes). Try to play your iPhone version of PVZ on your iPad in zoomed in pixelated mode, and you’ll probably want to grab this iPad version in no time.
