In this zombocalyptic multiple-choice RPG, the player helps to make choices reuniting the protagonist with his or her sister across town, where they can rendezvous and then strategise with her friend how to reconvene with a band of armed survivors waiting the plague out on a boat. But there are many decisions to be made before then -- route selection to the docks, finding a way to the player's sister, and even options that need to be exercised before the player learns where their sister is to be found. There is even plenty of danger in the offing just in emerging from the player's apartment block in which the game begins. As if the zombie menace wasn't enough, military authorities have imposed a quarantine on the city in an attempt to halt the spread of the zombie hordes, in addition to which there are gangs of bandits and weirdos capitalising on the chaos who must be avoided or dealt with.

Like Choice of Games' polished in-house productions, this game features a character creation process which helps to determine which skills and equipment the player will be able to rely on; not all options are available to all players if they lack the appropriate background or gear.

This game initially covered two chapters of a wider zombie saga, intended to be told in subsequent instalments. Chapter 3 was released, updating and expanding the basic game, on March 23rd, 2011.

XYZZY awards disqualification

This game nearly derailed the 2011 XYZZY awards after Choice of Games founder Dan Fabulich solicited votes from readers of the CoG company blog and its fans swept the polls, voting in a bloc and rushing it to first place in numerous categories. The administrators of the awards ceremony disqualified it from the general categories after some soul-searching about the function of the XYZZY awards and who its core community is, but awarded it a Special Recognition award. (A blanket ban of nomination of multiple-choice games, the initially-proposed solution to the problem, would also have excluded Best Story winner The Play, which also achieved a distinguished placing in the 2011 IF Competition.)
