Touch Arcade (Apr 13, 2012)
If you love platformers, you have to pick this beauty up. It really is a standout in all categories. The only possible turn off I can see is the difficulty, but maybe that's just a fine excuse to bone up on your skills. Get that itchy trigger finger ready and come out of the gate with guns blazing, and you should do just fine.
iFanzine (Apr 05, 2012)
Many iOS platformers aspire to the classics but fall short of reaching their ideals; Gunman Clive is not one of them. No platformer on iOS is going to one-up this without placing a heavy focus on character actions and nonlinearity, because Clive has completely mastered the art of level design. It’s just too bad that Clive’s sheer intensity keeps it from appealing to more casual platforming fans for the time being.
Slide to Play (Apr 19, 2012)
The best games of the NES era had a certain elegant simplicity about them, and Gunman Clive taps right into it. Clive can only do a small number of actions, but they're enough to let you navigate the well-crafted environments and myriad obstacles. The game is exceedingly tough, but when you complete a level, you know you earned it. As any old-school gamer can tell you, hard-won success is the most gratifying.
Gameplay (Benelux) (May 30, 2012)
