Labyrinth is still the finest example of how the iPhone's accelerometer works and if you can get over the fact you'll never be able to play it in bed then you should definitely check out this patience-testing puzzler.

Some of the mazes are quite challenging, while others have a rather “phoned in” feel that are a bit yawn-inducing. But there are tons of them—you can download them in the full game. (It only took a few seconds over Wi-Fi to grab the lion’s share of them when I bought the game.)

But Labyrinth could never be described as easy, and some of the more challenging levels seem nigh impossible on first inspection. It's a testament to the creativity of those who have come up with these initial levels that such a short range of variables can result in such a vast array of different maps, and by including its customers and fans in its future, Codify AB has made sure that this is one ball that will keep on rolling for some time to come.

Labyrinth for the iPhone is also a social game. In the future, the developers say you’ll be able to design your own levels and share them with other players. Unlike that table version I played as a kid, the variety of levels are limitless. I recommend this game for some classic maze puzzle fun. If you just want to try it out, you can download the free version. If you like it, you can buy it – it’s small price to pay for a pleasurable stroll down memory lane.
