Apple 'n' Apps (Apr 14, 2014)
Through all of the ups, and downs of RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile ($2.99, Universal), it’s still an enjoyable experience allowing you to simply build roller coaster on your iOS device, and expand your park in various ways making it worth picking up.
GameZebo (Apr 17, 2014)
RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile does little to earn its name, or its price tag. Sad as it is to say, it’s almost indistinguishable from any other free-to-play building game. Atari is obviously hoping to sell the game on its name alone. For that, somebody in charge needs to be forced to ride on the last car of a wooden roller coaster for a year straight. No bathroom breaks.

Common Sense Media (Jun 25, 2014)
Parents need to know that RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile remakes the popular game franchise into a "build and click" app experience. Although it's visually fantastic, the app just doesn't offer the same level of fun and detail as its predecessors. Plus, many of the rides and attractions have long completion timers or require premium in-game currency to finish immediately. These premium tickets are plentiful early on, but kids may feel pressure to purchase more with real money as they progress.
At $2.99, RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile isn’t a smart purchase, especially considering it’s an extension of a series as robust as RollerCoaster Tycoon. There are plenty of similar tapping games out there that are absolutely free. It seems they’ve followed through on a particularly random peep quote, “it’s time to make some money.” The tutorial, which is a lady that vanishes shortly after the game begins, is useless, the characters are unintelligible, and there’s little to offer outside of what you see here. RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile is no more than a cheap attempt to milk hardcore fans. With that said, it’s still a fine option for children or those interested in a bare-bones RollerCoaster Tycoon experience.

Instead of being a true theme park simulator, RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile is a game about tapping at the right time throughout the day and collecting coins, before completing some quests to gain experience and more coins. Essentially, it's the same as all the other free-to-play city building experiences, except that it demands $2.99 from the player before they've even started.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile mighthave been a reasonable free-to-play title, as a premium game, its greed is too much to stomach.

I never got the sense that anything I was doing was helping or hurting my park. You can build coasters but guests seem to enjoy it the less creative you are. Make a simple circle and guests seem to love it. It’s a shame too because the actual core touch controls are in place to make this a far deeper and richer experience then what is given. I put in hours into this game and never felt like I got anything in return. Put the horrid free-to-play mechanics to the side for a second, and even at its core this isn’t a good RollerCoaster Tycoon experience. The game is all but lacking the necessary Tycoon hooks to keep you wanting to press forward. At this point you would be far better off picking up a copy of RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 then dishing any money out for this one.
Touch Arcade (Apr 11, 2014)
Rollercoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile is a fun diversion if you’re willing to spend money, or if you have no issue waiting hours for a timer to expire. If you’re a fan of the series, you are going to be severely disappointed, perhaps angry, and will hope that the PC version doesn't contain any of the poor decisions that went into this one.

As for Rollercoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile, it’s not just a bad example of a social game but an example of everything that’s wrong with the current state of mobile gaming.

About the only thing I can say in favour of Rollercoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile is that it accurately captures the experience of visiting a theme park: it costs too much to get in, the stalls are all overpriced, you have to wait ages for all the rides and the whole experience will leave you feeling decidedly nauseous.
Softonic (2014)
Rollercoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile seems like a slapdash, half-hearted attempt at a game that aims to cash in on loyal fans of the series. In reality, the game has been reduced to a shell of its former self and is unlikely to gain any fans unless it fixes the serious connectivity errors and crashing problems.
PC Games (Germany) (Apr 13, 2014)
