Slide to Play (May 26, 2009)
But for those eager to make that kind of commitment, there's no better buy than Zenonia. You'll be playing it for weeks, if not months.
Retro Gamer (Jul, 2009)
Boasting 40 hours of gameplay and plenty of twists and turns, Zenonia is an epic title that we'd have been happy to pay £30 for on DS. The fact it's a mere tenth of the price makes it one of the best bargains ever.
IGN (May 26, 2009)
Zenonia is a real achievement -- it totally blows away all other action-RPGs on the App Store. While I was constantly reminded of my favorite adventures of yesteryear on the Genesis and Super NES while playing Zenonia, the game also introduces some fresh concepts to the genre like the day-night system and the great skill tree for customizing the hero. The game is epic -- a real value for your money. Right now, it is priced at $5.99, which is a tremendous bargain for how much game is packed into Gamevil's download. This is truly one of the best games for the iPhone thus far and I heartily recommend Zenonia for both retrogamers and adventure fans.

Zenonia is one of the few true adventure RPGs on the iPhone. If you are an RPG fan, what are you waiting for!? Get this game. It’s work far more than it’s $5.99 price tag. If you’re on the fence about RPG games… it’s just 6 bucks people! In all seriousness, Zenonia is tons of fun, and will provide 20-30 hours of gameplay for just one run-through - which is pretty insane for an iPhone game. It’s a modern day 16-bit classic, and makes me excited for future games from Gamevil.
GameSpot (Oct 06, 2009)
At the moment, the App Store is tilted heavily toward casual, throwaway games that are good for a few minutes of entertainment here and there. Zenonia is the exact opposite. This is a real video game that demands serious levels of time and attention. For those eager to make that kind of commitment, Zenonia will offer you weeks--if not months--of exploration, combat, and story.

At 40+ hours, Zenonia provides excellent value for the low asking price of $5.99. Taking into account that there are three character classes, as well as a good/evil alignment mechanic, subsequent playthroughs should provide even more fresh entertainment should you choose to take the plunge more than once. As a traditional RPG, it provides a clean, interesting, and hardcore experience not meant for those who pick up and put down their iPhone or iPod Touch after some rounds of Bejeweled or puzzle/pet games. Small control caveats and excessive level grinding prevent me from calling it a perfectly-executed success, but it's certainly a formidable adventure for the price - especially if you long to relive those long nights hunched over your SNES in front of the TV... at least, until we get some ports of Earthbound on the iPhone.
Pocket Gamer UK (May 26, 2009)
Self-referential charm and well-crafted role-playing mechanics carry Zenonia through the rough spots. Even with updates to address flaws such as menu navigation and writing errors, the obvious sense of the game having been ported from mobile won't go away.
GamersGlobal (Jun 13, 2009)
Pocket Magazine / Pockett Videogames (Aug 08, 2009)
