ST-Computer (Jan, 1996)
Electric Playground (Dec 29, 1995)
All in all, Highlander left me feeling wistful for the old world, when people were strong and able to include nature in their most valued traditions. When the villages were populated by Healers, and Elders were sought out in hopes of their ageless advice. Although no change could ever see that world again, Highlander for the Jag CD breaks new ground in role-playing and comes amazingly close to bringing us the ultimate in experiencing part of the ancient lore that is our existence.
Game Zero (1999)
So what's the bottom line? If you are a fan of the TV series and you like beating your head against the wall for a number of hours before you getting to the enjoyable part of a game, go check it out. Otherwise, your best off passing this one by. Not a shining moment in the life of the Jaguar CD, and that's a real shame.

GamePro (US) (Jan, 1996)
A mediocre old move has just become an awful new game for the Jaguar CD. Highlander is one of the lowlights for Atari's new system.
The Video Game Critic (Oct 03, 2007)
Highlander is beyond awful - it's embarrassing. Why is the main character's hair blonde in the cut-scenes, yet bright pink in the game?? Equally shameful is the box art, which depicts Highlander as a blonde woman in what appears to be a cheap Aquaman outfit. If Atari expected garbage like this to pass as a legitimate game, perhaps the company deserved its untimely fate.
