In Jets 'n' Guns, a humorous side-scrolling shooter, the player assumes the role of a freelance pilot who has to save the universe. His old Colonel, aboard the United Space Ship Impotence, enlists him back into space military to foil the plans of evil warlord Xoxx who has stolen a gigantic space gun with the power to destroy the entire universe.
The game lets the player pilot various space ships and features upgradable weapons which can be combined. Certain weapons will suit a particular level better than others. Upgrades also include ship defenses as well as cooling mechanisms and engines. Destroyed ships come crashing down, damaging other ships and units on the ground.
