Description
JumpStart ABC's is an educational game for children aged three to five. It is based on the video
JumpStart Preschool: Who Left the Juice in the Caboose? released around the same time. The game is presented as a mystery as the player needs to help Eleanor Elephant find out who spilled juice in the JumpStart train's caboose and did not clean it up. She makes a list of all passengers and from a central hub different educational activities presented as mini-games can be selected, each one tied to a character. Completing the activities provides clues that can be used to solve the mystery so names can be scratched off the list.
The activities train counting, the alphabet and letter sounds. In one, the player needs to click items to reveal a letter with the goal to locate the one that matches the letter shown on a board. Another is a racing game where Pierre needs to be steered over matching letters. A different one has the player click on letters to form a correct sequence to clear a path for a train.
There are also six songs the children can listen to, aiming to reinforce letter recognition, letter sequencing and letter sounds. Next to Eleanor the other main characters are Casey, Cecil, Kisha and Pierre.
