JumpStart Typing is a fun and effective learn-to-type program. It is best suited for children who like sports arcade games, and competition.

Playing in adventure mode involves working toward the goal of unlocking the Trophy Room to free the coach--a task that requires earning seven power cards. Accomplishing this goal involves a fair amount of typing practice and provides sufficient motivation to keep kids coming back for more.

WindowsAll Game Guide (1998)
The game provides a good means to make learning to type fun (educational value) but the games are somewhat lackluster and lack entertainment value. It will take time for anyone just learning how to type to be able to play the games successfully and, unfortunately, the game isn't up to the standards of most other JumpStart titles in this department. Due to the somewhat boring subject matter, kids will have to have an above average stick-to-it desire to reach the point where the games are entertaining and not a chore.
