The NES version ditches the side-scrolling platforming/run 'n' gun underground segments, replacing them with horizontal scrolling shoot 'em up gameplay.
Regional differences
The Japanese arcade version featured a female character for player one (Michel) and a male character for player two (Kevin). They were replaced with anonymous male characters for the western release.
