Atlantis: The Underwater City
Description
Atlantis: The Underwater City is an interactive story book game based on a VHS animation movie for children of the same name.
When the boy Ivy wins a travel to Stonehenge he and his brother Gevin decide to go there, despite their parent's veto. However on arrival something unexpected happens: The two brothers are warped to the city of Atlantis where they meet princess Lutien and the elf Frenier. It soon turns out that not only the city, but the whole world is threatened by monsters from another dimension. There is not much hope left, but together with the spirit of the mighty sorcerer Zoltan they might be able to save the world.
The main game consists of interactive scenes: The upper part contains of a picture with several hot spots, the lower part contains a short summary of the scene. By clicking on the corresponding icon one can have the text read out loud, play a minigame related to the scene or watch the corresponding part of the animation movie.
In addition to the interactive mode it's also possible to just listen to the story - the text will be read and some of the interactive picture elements will be activated automatically. The CD also contains the complete original movie which may be watched as another alternative. Last but not least one may directly select any of the included minigames from the main menu.
