Story of a Cube
Description
Story of a Cube is a bright, abstract maze shooter where the player controls a cube. It is out for revenge as the circles came in, killed everyone who resisted and kidnapped its family. Each chapter has a large maze to explore. The cube can be freely moved around, from what may be a top-down or a side view. As a twin-stick shooter the mouse is used to aim and shoot in any direction, independent from movement. The cube uses a weapon left behind by the circles firing regular bullets and later on upgrades can be found to make it shoot faster and do more damage. The mazes contain turrets that often need to be taken out, as well as bosses. There is exploration and sometimes a key needs to be found to open a barrier elsewhere. There are three difficulty levels and even though the cube can take a few hits, but there are only nine lives in total. The mazes are divided into different sections with checkpoints. Later levels introduce hazards such as spinning blades and moving platforms. Often walls can be used for cover.
