I like this game a lot. No real surprise there, I like all LucasArts games. This one had a particular quirkiness [Chris-feel free to replace that with any other adjective that is spelled right] to it. The idea of a Tentacle taking aver the world could only be thought of be one company, and only one company could believe in the game designer to spend time and money on the game. I’m glad they did, and so are a lot of other people. I highly recommend this game.
Day of the Tentacle is yet another one of LucasArts's masterpieces. The humor, the sound, the graphics, and the puzzles blend together to make Day of the Tentacle a must-play for any adventure lover.

Mac Gamer (1996)
Although not as graphically clean on a 68040 Mac as Full Throttle (another animated game from LucasArts), Day of the Tentacle still offers loads of fun for the entire family. It may be a bit childish for high school and college-aged students but it's a definite break from the violence found in many computer games. 68040 Macintosh gamers should not be too concerned with the jaggies because the plot, animation, soundtrack and voices more than compensate for any graphics shortfall. Day of the Tentacle will put a smile on your face and make you a hero all at once! It's time to save the world again!
Playing the game is a lot of laughs, and is the perfect pick me up after a long day playing intensely dramatic games. The character expressions and voices (Hoagie calls Benjamin Franklin "The Fat Dude with the kite") will leave you howling and holding your sides. But as well as being funny, the game is a solid adventure, and one that it will take some thinking to undo. If a comedic adventure sounds just right for you, this is one game you'll really want to play.
