DescriptionAn unnamed narrator once had a fish called Chicken. While moving the truck had an accident and everything fell over the bridge into a sacred spring. The narrator hasn't seen the fish since, but hopes it is doing fine. St. Chicken is a short action game where you guide the guppy fish Chicken through underwater levels. By eating nutrients it grows in size. Once a certain amount is eaten, offspring spawns, following Chicken. The goal is to reach the exit of a level with as many fry (guppy offspring) as possible alive.
The size of the fish often determines where it can go. It grows in size with each nutrient, but after spawning offspring it shrinks again. The offspring can be called with a key to follow closely. This is useful to keep the group together, but it is also required to prevent them from dying. They gradually turn gray and by calling them close, they become healthy again as Chicken has healing powers. If they are neglected, they die. There are also some creatures that need to be avoided. To exit a level a relic needs to be found. When Chicken touches it, the level is over and the remaining offspring is counted. There are five levels unlocked gradually based on the amount of offspring globally. Levels can be replayed to gather more. Later levels introduce new gameplay elements, such as blocks that can be broken by bumping into them, to create a passage. The amount of bumps requires is determined through Chicken's size.
