Mega Man 8-bit Deathmatch
Description
Mega Man 8-bit Deathmatch is a freeware first-person shooter fan-game, based on the Mega Man series. It runs on the Zandronum engine, a source port of Doom. The game contains a variety of multiplayer modes (from Deathmatch to Capture the Flag), and offers a large number of maps, weapons and skins based on about 100 different Robot Masters from the Mega Man series. There is also a variety of special items such as the "Rush Coil" which allow the players to execute a high jump, "Wire Adaptor" that shoots a grappling hook, and more. All graphics and audio are designed in the style of classic NES Mega Man games.
The game also contains a single-player mode where the player, as a robot named Maestro, enters a grand robot tournament to find out the plans of the evil Dr. Wily. In each chapter the player must complete a series of matches against bot opponents, culminating in a battle against that chapter's boss.
