Spielt Men of Valor, es lohnt sich.

Fist Alpha.

In genau solche Situationen versetzt Sie Men of Valor, der neueste Ego-Shooter des Entwicklers 2015 (Medal of Honor: Allied Assault).

Men of Valor hat all das verändert. Warum? Ganz einfach: Weil es so geil ist!

Trying to stay alive in the jungles of Vietnam doesn't exactly sound like a laugh-a-minute riot, but Men of Valor nonetheless entertains. The control is about as tight as console first-person shooting gets, and I deeply appreciate the fact that developer 2015 has made good use of their M rating.

XboxConsole Obsession (May 31, 2010)
Men of Valor is a top quality shooter with big budget like set pieces. This is only derided by the fact that the genre has been done better elsewhere, perhaps Halo has just spoiled us. In spite of this Men of Valor can quite easily coexist as an enjoyable and authentic experience with a touch of humanity. Well worth a look for any shooter fan.

WindowsPelit (Dec, 2004)
Vaikka Men of Valorilla on hetkensä, sitä vaivaa ilottomuus. Kaikki maistuu liikaa Medal of Honorilta Vietnamin sodassa.

WindowsGameSpot (Oct 28, 2004)
Unlike most recent Vietnam War-themed games--and unlike most Vietnam War-themed anything, for that matter--Men of Valor sort of recasts the war as a misunderstood WWII-style conflict without much moral ambiguity. The developers haven't completely abandoned their civic duty, though, since the main character is an African-American grunt, which leads to some earnest lessons about racism in between the shooting. Luckily, the shooting wins out over the moralizing and helps make Men of Valor one of the few games to successfully tackle the Vietnam War.

In a time where World War II games are a dime a dozen, developers are just recently beginning to tap into the Vietnam War as a venue for war games. Titles like Battlefield: Vietnam, Conflict: Vietnam, Shellshock: Nam ’67 and more are hitting the market hoping to gain the same success that the WWII genre has enjoyed over the past few years. Now, from Vivendi Universal comes Men of Valor, a Vietnam FPS with a bit more of a personal tone and storyline.

XboxGameSpot (Oct 22, 2004)
Men of Valor is a first-person shooter set in the Vietnam War. And it's good! Whaddya know? After the US lost the Vietnam War to the North Vietnamese, after the favorable public opinion was lost back home, and then developers lost it a bunch more times to whatever mysterious force stood between them and making a decent game, somebody has finally licked the Vietnam curse. Men of Valor is a first-person shooter set in the Vietnam War. And it's good! Those of you keeping score at home through the recent, seemingly unending torrent of disappointing Vietnam War games, can dust off the unused "win" column, take the pencil out from behind your ear, and write "1, USA!"

WindowsActionTrip (Oct 27, 2004)
Overall, Men of Valor is not a bad military shooter-far from it in fact. It's a good military shooter with a well written single-player campaign, some catchy tunes from the era and a fully featured multiplayer mode. Those of you who are military shooter buffs should certainly want to play it, but don't expect the type of nail-biting action that we've witnessed in Call of Duty or MoH: AA. The game just never clicked in the same way for this reviewer and that had very little to do with the different nature of the conflicts that were portrayed in the abovementioned games.

XboxIGN (Oct 19, 2004)
'Tis the season to be a Vietnam shooter, and Developer 2015, known for its work with Electronic Arts on Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, is assuredly providing the best chance of re-creating the most authentic semblance of Vietnam in a videogame. Not surprisingly, Men of Valor, for both Xbox and PC, feels remarkably like Medal of Honor (not to mention sounding a little like it too), only instead of the historically noble and valiant days of World War II, we're in the psychedelic, ethically challenged days of Vietnam in the nation-torn 1960s.

XboxGame Informer Magazine (Nov, 2004)
There are all sorts of gray areas when talking about Men of Valor, beyond whether it's good or bad. The question is: Is being good good enough? I think we all know what to expect of Vietnam games. Ambushes and booby traps in the jungle deep, the sometimes ambiguous moral tone of soldiers, and some pretty f'ed-up situations are all common devices. At each turn, Men of Valor did just enough (and sometimes more than that) to take on these core elements and make them worthy playing.

XboxXBox Evolved (Oct 29, 2004)
Men of Valor portrays Vietnam differently then the others on the same war. Its main competition, Shellshock Nam 67', paints a picture of violence and gore that will creep out players about the horror that took place there. Men of Valor presents the war as misinterpreted and how the soldiers went through so many struggles to make it out of Vietnam. And you know what; it works fine as Xbox Live is what holds this game above the others that were recently released.

WindowsGameSpot (Belgium/Netherlands) (Nov 09, 2004)

WindowsGame Watcher (Jan 23, 2005)
Men of Valor is unquestionably the best singleplayer Vietnam game out now. It provides a visceral experience, but it’s far from perfect. Had the gameplay been refined, and the AI a bit smarter, this game would’ve been great. As it is now, it’s just your typical scripted FPS.

WindowsGameStar (Germany) (Nov, 2004)

This is game that deserves a sensible review, since I feel that taking a historic war scenario and making a game could be considered by some, insulting to those who fought. But I feel that Men of Valor takes the topic seriously, with good results.

WindowsGameSpy (Nov 17, 2004)
Great features like the musical score can't make you forget that Men of Valor suffers from major flaws that can kill the fun quicker than a napalm strike. It's a real shame the game punishes players with its save system and sometimes uncompromising difficulty. The lack of fine polish is also unfortunate. Men of Valor requires a whole lot of patience and perseverance to enjoy, but it can be worth the effort for times when everything comes together to create thrilling shooter moments.

WindowsComputer Gaming World (CGW) (Jan, 2005)
Then there’s the inconsistent A.I., which at least has the presence of mind to take cover when it’s randomly repositioning itself. But the A.I. is often happy simply to ignore an enemy within a stone’s throw, which means you can’t really rely on your squadmates to protect your flank, much less not get in the way of your gun. The whole thing has a hapless Keystone Cops quality that undermines Men of Valor’s great gunplay. making the action alternately frustrating and silly. And in the end, this is what you’re likely to remember: Men of Valor was that Vietnam game that had some really cool set pieces with a bunch of dumb guys popping out of nowhere and getting in your way.

XboxX-Power (Dec 08, 2004)

Xbox1UP (Nov 09, 2004)
After Call of Duty, the de facto standard in a military game these days is group combat. No man fights alone, unless you happen to be Rambo. Men of Valor appropriately follows the design trend, but injects a little more life into your squad-mates. Set in the midst of the Vietnam War, Men of Valor doesn't quite get all the action right, but there's more of character driven drama herein. You will steadily get to know your team through in-game cut scenes and character enriched sound bites.

XboxGameSpy (Oct 25, 2004)
When it comes to first person shooters on the Xbox, you can definitely do better than this one (Halo 2 anyone?). However, if you're looking for a good Vietnam War game that goes out of its way to offer more than just a run 'n' gun adventure, look no further than Men of Valor. You'll find yourself cheering for Dean to make it through OK, even as you're cursing your teammates for walking right past an enemy.

WindowsIGN (Oct 26, 2004)
Men of Valor is a solid game at its core, but it's very, very rough around the edges. Designed as a leafy corridor shooter, these green, foliage-filled hallways are at least wider and less obvious than in most games of this type. The final build, however, has roughly cobbled-together cutscenes, the long load times we saw on the Xbox version, and disturbing trends in its AI. It's more trial-and-error than experiment-and-enjoy. It's certainly intense, but is it all that fun?

XboxEurogamer.net (UK) (Nov 04, 2004)
The net result for the makers of Medal Of Honor is a game that's a pleasantly unpleasant diversion from old WW2 glories, yet evidently not the triple A game Vivendi Universal would have been hoping for. Still, Men Of Valor is a solid, enjoyable and challenging Vietnam take on the sort of scripted cinematic shooters that the public evidently love to death. It may well be widely-regarded as being up there with the best Vietnam-based FPSs (and we're thinking Vietcong on PC specifically, which shades this), but stood next to the likes of Call Of Duty its bothersome AI leaves the game hamstrung in one of the most crucial areas. But with some memorable moments, some great tech behind it and a plethora of online modes to get to grips with Men Of Valor still has enough going for it to warrant further investigation - but perhaps only once the price is right.

WindowsCanardPC (Nov 03, 2004)

All in all, Men of Valor is a pretty average game. The generally uninspiring visuals and formulaic missions do little to keep you enthralled, but the entertaining multiplayer modes give you a reason to come back to the game. Probably the best Vietnam game released so far, but that isn't saying much.

WindowsUOL Jogos (Dec 24, 2004)

There's certainly enough merit to Men of Valor to make it worth playing. It seems to be constrained by the usual video game pitfalls, and while that works against it, it manages to pull off more than a typical Hollywood production ever could. There are those moments you truly feel involved, as tension mounts before you're spotted and you only have one chance to make the shot count. This is what the entire game should be, and sadly, it's not.
58
WindowsGame Revolution (Nov 03, 2004)
Despite the fact that it gets the job done, Men of Valor is generally disappointing. It's a decent game, but just nowhere near as enjoyable or impressive as the many new FPS recruits who have recently landed on the retail battlefield. Since Conscientious Objector status can result in jail time, hundred of thousands in fines and character assassination, we suggest you rent this war before enlisting.
58
XboxGame Revolution (Nov, 2004)
With games like Vietcong and Battlefield: Vietnam tearing down the proverbial walls of Jericho, the largely untouched Vietnam War has become a viable digital staging ground and many developers are rushing to cash in on the latest craze. If gaming is any indication, Vietnam is the new World War II.

XboxSuper Play (Sweden) (Oct, 2004)
